Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 338

"Except we're two people because we represent two different alphas," the Bloodmoon says.

Silence. At this point, I don't know if we made a mistake or if they just would've used anything at this point to attack us.

Mr. Olcan speaks up, just as calmly as Axel did, but there's an added tension in his voice. The same tightness is in my jaw. Carson's shoulder's. Aiden's eyes. Mr. Olcan speaks carefully. "What exactly can we do to express to your alphas that our intentions were and still are... benevolent?"

"It's a simple fix really." The Dawn werewolf smiles, all teeth, all canines. "We'll gladly escort the female beta back to our place."

The smirk that crosses the Bloodmoon werewolf's lips makes my skin crawl. He keeps his burning crimson orbs on Bri. He offers an appeasing smile. "Don't worry. It'd just be to clear up the misunderstanding, of course."

"Oh, of course," the other says. The fact that they seem to know what they're both implying, and they're still able to smirk, that's sickening.

"She's not going anywhere with you," I say before anyone else gets the chance to.

The two ambassadors hold their hands up, feigning being startled and afraid.

I'm about ready to jump over the table and strangle them, but Bri waves me off. I can't believe her words. "I'll go."

"What?" Carson, Krys, and the other two brothers ask.

"Smart lady." The Dawn werewolf smiles.

Bri's head snaps in his direction. "Your pack will lose their ambassador if you don't shut your mouth."

"Feisty!" the Bloodmoon cries out.

"Absolutely not," Krys says.

Aiden nods. "I have to agree. There's no telling what they'll try."

"You think I want to go with them?" Bri sends a wary glance in their direction. "I have to. Onai and Ethel's lives are on the line. They're still alive. We can all feel them."

"There has to be another way," Coach Kenet says. Axel, Mr. Olcan, and I nod.

Bri sighs, forcefully. "Carson, could you back me up here?"

Carson glances between her and the guys. He gives her a wary look. "You want me to support this?"

"I want you to agree that Ethel and Onai are the priority right now," she says.
