Don't Leave Me, Mate (by AlisTae) novel Chapter 147

147

When Ava returned home, it was afternoon.

The maids rushed toward her when they saw her clothes were drenched.

I am fine,Ava said to them.

She went to her bedroom and changed her clothes. She rubbed her hair with a towel and sat on the bed.

She was very upset. Her eyes were red after crying for a while.

I am a crybaby,she murmured to herself.

Why would she not cry? Just when she thought fan was hers, he once again went back to himself. For what? Thinking that she would accept him doing anything?

She was not like other girls who would stay quiet and let him do anything he wanted, just to gain the position next to him. She did not want anything except pure love.

She remembered how special Ian had made her feel last night. Then why did all of this happen today?

It felt like whatever happened last night was a dream that he had broken today.

She spent the whole day in her room. The maids kept telling her to eat something, but she rejected their requests.

She was lying in her bed when her phone rang.

She received the call without looking at who had called her.

Ava?

Mom!

Ava sat up on the bed after hearing her mother’s voice.

Mom, are you okay? What about Dad? Is he fine?

We both are alright. How are you, Ava?

Ava bit her bottom lip. If her mother had called her yesterday, she would sound like the happiest girl ever. But today, she was not happy.

Just fine, Mom.

After a brief pause, her mother asked with a worried tone,

Ava, are you hiding something from me? Are you really okay, my child?

Ava took a long breath and tried to ease her mother’s worry.

Mom, I am fine. You and Dad left the future Gamma to protect me. He is protecting me well.

Stephen is really a good child.

Yes, Mom. By the way, how about Dad’s treatment?

We are processing the treatment. He will be fine, but it can take some time.

I hope he will be alright. About time, you both have time for your whole life. No worries about other things.

You sounded like a mature girl. Not bad.

She chuckled and mumbled, Thanks, Mom.

Ava, since we are not there, please try to stay closer to Stephen.

Ava sighed and replied,

Mom, he always stays at home. In fact, he invited his friends at home. So they are also here for a few days.

Oh, yeah. He talked to me about it. I told him that it’s a great idea

Ava lowered her head. Mom, why are you so worried about me?

Her mother remained silent. Ava could understand her silence. So she said,

Are you worried about the Thunder Howl Pack?

She remembered how her mother warned her about that pack. She specifically told her to stay away from that pack’s people.

Mom, I am assuring you. No one is going to harm me. I am totally fine and good.

Yeah, that’s a relief,her mother replied after a while.

Ava ignored the topic of that pack and talked to her mother for a long time.

When it was night,

The maids came to ask Ava for dinner. But she opened the door and refused to eat like before.

She sneezed when she tried to talk to the maid.

Miss, are you having a cold?they asked.

No, I am fine.

She closed the door and went to lay on her bed.

Her eyes were getting close slowly. She felt a headache. She began to feel a shiver in her entire body..

After a while,

The door of her room opened. Ava glanced at the door and saw Stephen.

My little sis, are you okay?Stephen asked with concern in his voice.

He sat beside her and reached out to touch her forehead.

Shit! You are running a fever!

Fever?she mumbled, coughing a little.

Did you get wet in the rain?he asked.

Ava nodded her head, realizing that she got a fever because of it. She closed her eyes, trying to sleep.

You should eat something. You haven’t eaten anything the whole day,Stephen said, stroking her hair.

No, I don’t want to,she murmured.

You will have to take medicine to get rid of this fever. But you have to eat something before taking it.

Brother, plea-

She was interrupted by another voice.

Call the doctor. I will stay here.
