Sitting on a bench near the basketball court, Ava was staring at the boy who was playing basketball.

He was not in his jersey but in his usual tshirt and jeans. But still, passion was clay visible in his eyes.

As the afternoon sunset, the sky painted itself in hues of red and purple. The reddish light fell on the boy, kissing his skin.

Ava felt blissful just looking at him.

As he approached the basket, he aimed to throw the ball. When he successfully put the ball inside from a quiet distance, Ava got to her feet with a clap.

The boy turned his head to her and smirked at her.

Wanna play?

Ava was stunned as she walked over to him. She stopped in front of her and said,

Ian, I can’t play. I know nothing about basketball.

Ian walked toward the ball that rolled a little far from them. After grabbing the ball, he turned to her and tossed it toward her.

She hurriedly grabbed it. The whole court was empty.

Lemme teach you then,Ian said, moving toward her.

Ava nodded her head with a smile. However, when Ian walked past her side and turned to stand behind her, she gulped.

He moved closer and lifted his hand to hold her hands that were holding the ball.

He pulled her back against his chest, causing her to hold her breath

You have to hold the ball like this,Ian said, moving her hands to hold the ball in a different position.

He leaned down to her ear and said,

Focus on the aim.

She took a shaky breath. Though Ian was talking like he was very serious about teaching her, she could feel how he was getting

closer to her.

It’s been a few days since Ian proposed to her as his girlfriend.

From that day on, they were getting closer slowly every day. However, he did not kiss her.

He told her that he wanted her to initiate kissing him. She was too shy to do that. She felt like he was testing her.

However, she was the one who ended up testing his patience.

Despite the fact that he would not kiss her, he always teased her by getting close to her.

Raise your hands.

She listened to him and raised her hands. When he removed his hands from hers and told her to throw the ball, she failed to hit the target.

After doing it a few times, she felt tired. She huffed and shook her head.

Ian, I can’t.

He was watching her as he stood next to her. His eyes were always on her every move.

Come here.

Instead of grabbing the ball, he grabbed her forearm and turned her around. Her back pressed against his hard chest. With her hands holding the ball, he raised his hands while holding hers. He turned his head to look at her face.

Then he threw the ball without looking at the basket.

Ava’s eyes widened when she realized that he did not even have to look at the aim. But the fact that she was the one holding the ball made her happy.

She jumped in content andhugged him.

Yes!

Ian wrapped his hands around her waist.

Her breath hitched when she broke the hug and raised her head. Her eyes locked his. His eyes were looking at her intensely.

I am still waiting for your move, baby,he muttered, shifting his gaze at her lips.

Ava’s lips trembled with his gaze.

He moved his hand and reached to her lips. He placed his thumb and rubbed her lips with it.

When?

His question was clear to her. However, because of his touch, she was frozen.

She was nervous too. While her lips pressed against his thumb, she was taking deep breaths.

He leaned down to her face. She closed her eyes, thinking that his patience was broken and now he would kiss her.

But she was wrong.

He was a man of words.

He tilted his head and pressed his lips against her ear.

She tightened her fists on her dress to keep herself from letting out a moan.

The more you make me wait, the more I will be eager to lose my patience.

Ava remained silent, losing her mind in his words. He swept his thumb away over her lips and backed away.

He ran his fingers through his hair and muttered,

Waiting for your next move.

After saying that, he turned around and left her on the basketball court.

She got back to her breathing when she realized that he had left. She exhaled deeply, moving her fingers to touch her lips.
