Tan looked at Ava when the girl told him that Stephen’s sister had come to the party.

He was completely blown away by Ava’s stunning look. It was difficult for him to tear his eyes away from her because she had such an alluring appearance.

He saw Ava avert her eyes from him.

“Ian,” the girl called him when she noticed he was staring at Ava.

“Hmm?”

“Will you spend your night with me?” the girl asked seductively. She rubbed her hands against his abs over his half -sleeved black t–shirt.

Ian felt nothing from her touches, not even from the way she was sitting on his lap. It was like his mind was somewhere else. Regardless of how hard he tried to divert his attention, his thoughts kept going back to a particular girl whom he had rejected.

“Let’s see how much you can seduce me,” he winked at her. A blush appeared on her face, and she started kissing his neck.

In spite of the fact that the girl was making an effort, Ian’s eyes were fixed on Ava.

As he observed her engaging in conversation with other people, she appeared to be in a lighthearted mood, as if she did not care about the fact that he was with another girl

His brows arched when he noticed a boy approaching her. He reached out and she shook hands with him, and then! she started talking to him as if they were already acquainted with one another.

“Ian?”

The girl whispered in his ear, but he was not interested in what she had to say, nor did her sweet and seductive voice entice him. In fact, it annoyed him. He wrapped his hand around her waist and moved her away from him.

The girl was startled by his sudden action.

“I am so sorry. Did I offend you?”

“Leave,” he muttered as he stood up from the couch. He was sitting in the lounge area all this time. But all of a sudden, his mood had spoiled suddenly. He was in need of a drink.

“But Ian, I felt that we would have a conversation.”

Ian cocked his head in the direction of her. One look from him was all it took to silence her and prevent her from continuing.

“Go and find someone else. I have completely lost my mood” Saying that, Ian headed to the bar.

Soon after he placed his order for a drink for himself, his attention was drawn back to Ava.

Ava and the boy were both laughing together. The boy kept saying something, leaning into her ear as if he were a joker and telling her new jokes.

The bartender placed a drink in front of Ian and said,

“Sir, your drink.”

Ian reached for the glass and drank it down in one sitting. His eyes were intently staring at the boy with a glare.

“I could feel a smell,” Ian heard a volce say as someone came to join him in the bar

“Maybe you found your mate,” he replied without turning his head to the person.

He did not need to turn to understand who the person was was his best friend, Ronald Solace.

“No, dude. It’s a smell of burning,” Ronald said, sniffing in the air. He moved his head towards Ian and took a whiff from his shirt.

“Got it! It’s coming from you,” Ronald let out and chuckled

“Fuck off.”

“Come on. You know we have a connection, as we are going to have an Alpha–Beta relationship very soon. I can feel when you need me.”

Ian turned to him and scoffed at him. “I can’t remember summoning you.”

“But I could feel it.”

Ian rolled his eyes. “Yeah, sure. You can.‘

Ronald laughed and shook his head. He followed Ian’s gaze and saw him looking in Ava’s direction.

“Why is your gaze following her? Are you not here to distract your mind so you can regain your sanity?”

Ian looked away from Ava and replied,

“I’m not following anyone.”

“Oh shit!”

Ronald said with a dissatisfied tone.

“What?” Ian asked.

“Look who’s here.”

Ian glanced at where Ronald was looking. His face turned fiercer.

“What is she doing here?” Ian inquired while looking at Nova, who had just entered the house to attend the party.

Ronald turned his gaze toward Stephen, and his mind linked to him.

“Didn’t you say Nova was not invited? Then how did she come here?” Ronald asked Stephen.

Stephen turned around and found Nova approaching him.

“But I didn’t invite her. I don’t know how she got here,” Stephen replied in the mind link.

He glanced at Ian, who was glaring at him. Stephen looked away from Ian right away. He was the one who assured Ian that he would not call Nova there. How would he now explain this to Ian?
