Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! novel Chapter 845

"What happened? What's wrong with Cara?"

Nicole went to Cara's room in a rush and saw her being insane. Cara struggled to attack anyone who wanted to approach her.

"Stay away from me! All of you, get of my room!"

Cara shouted out with her eyes red and her hair messy, seemingly in a bad mental state.

"Cara!"

Nicole wanted to step forward, but was stopped by Samuel .

"She has gone insane. Don't get close to her, or you will be injured."

"It's fine. I can handle it. Don't worry."

Nicole gently pushed Samuel away and walked over.

Laurence watched from the sidelines and frowned, with his eyes full of regret and guilt.

Nicole put her arms around Cara and said in a low voice, "Don't be afraid, Cara. It's me. I'm Nicole, and I'm sorry to be late. It's fine, you're safe now."

Probably because Nicole comforted her in a soft voice or probably because she recognized Nicole, Cara calmed down when hearing Nicole. Then, she began to cry out.

She cried her heart out. Everyone who was present felt bitter as well when hearing her cries.

Nicole couldn't help but feel sorrow and choked up, "I'm sorry. You suffered a lot because of my negligence. Don't worry. Those who hurt you have been arrested. I won't let them off easily."

"Mrs. Green, I'm scared! I'm frightened to death!"

Cara wept and trembled unstoppably, like a helpless child. It took a while for Nicole to comfort her and calm her down. At last, Cara was beat and fell asleep.

Since Nicole looked tired, Laurence interrupted, "Mrs. Green, go back and rest. I'll stay here and take care of Cara."

"It's better that I stay here. You go to busy bar."

As Nicole did not turn around and said indifferently, Laurence could tell that Nicole was unhappy. Did she blame him?

Laurence wanted to continue, but Samuel stopped him and took him out.

"If you really want Cara to have a good rest, don't mess up. Nicole doesn't want Cara to see you now."

"Why?"

Laurence was confused.

Samuel sighed, "Cara likes you. She was able to express her affection to you boldly and ask you to be his boyfriend without hesitation. However, it's different now. After the incident, she might avoid you and stop pestering you. You should be happy. After all, you finally can put your heart into loving Adela without interruption. Cara probably will feel even worse when seeing you. I suggest you go to the Seapolis City."

Laurence tried to say something, but he at last failed. Remaining silent, he nodded and left.

He couldn't give Cara what she wanted. Rather than staying here and causing Cara to feel miserable, it was better to listen to Samuel.

Laurence left soon. Samuel stood up and went to the kitchen after seeing Nicole tucked Cara in.

"You must be tired. Sit down and have rest for a while. What do you want to eat? I'll cook for you," Samuel said.

Nicole looked at Samuel and said in a low voice, "I can understand how Cara feels. When I was abducted, I became extremely desperate and almost went crazy. Cara reminds me of myself."

"You are safe now. Don't think about it anymore. Cara will recover as well. I will find a good man for her, I promise."

Samuel's words surprised Nicole. She did a double take before smiling and saying, "I'm afraid that she won't get close to any man recently. Where's Laurence?"

"I ask him to return to the Seapolis City. If he is around, Cara will feel even worse."

"Thank you."

"You are my wife, and don't mention it. Grandfather is talking with mother, do you want to join in?"

As there was heavy cooking smell in the kitchen, Samuel asked Nicole to go out.

Nicole shook her head and said, "They must have much to say after being apart for such a long time. I'd better not interrupt them. I'll stay here with you."

"It's smelly here."

"It doesn't matter."

With Nicole's persistence, Samuel did not continue again.

He took off his coat, rolled up his sleeves and began to cook.

Staring at Samuel, who had fine slicing and cooking techniques, Nicole couldn't help but smile and say, "Will we be happier if we live ordinary lives?"

"No!"

Since Samuel answered without hesitation, Nicole was shocked.

"Why?"

"I have too many enemies. If I lose what I have currently, I won't be able to protect you and our children. We probably will suffer more. I'm sorry. You are wronged due to me."

Nicole shook her head.

"Not at all. If I feel wronged because of marrying you, all women in the Seapolis City will be so angry that they want to kill me."

Samuel put on a broad smile.

As Samuel chatted with Nicole, he cooked the meal in no time.

Nicole brought a bowl of porridge to Cara's room.

Nicole smiled and said, "Am I an old lady? I'm just pregnant. Don't worry too much, OK?"

"In your case, you can't be too careful."

Samuel cleaned the bowl and chopsticks with hot water and placed them in front of Nicole.

"It's all your favorite food. Hurry up and eat. It'll be cold in a while."

"Let's eat together."

"Alright."

Nicole felt especially warm when having food with him.

"Cara will go back with us, and I want to tidy up the guest room for her. Given she will have difficulty in moving, how about we hire a nanny to take care of her?"

Nicole suggested.

Samuel nodded.

"It's up to you. Listen, don't get too tired. I heard that you will have a design competition in half a month. Are you sure you are taking part in it?"

Samuel asked with concern. Nicole was pregnant, and she needs to rest. If she participated in the competition, she would definitely have to work hard. Samuel was worried that she would be exhausted.

Nicole naturally knew what Samuel worried about. She thought for a moment and said, "I've been preparing for a long time. If I don't participate, I will be regretful."

"Then go all out. Don't worry, I'll back you up one hundred percent."

Samuel stroked her head and comforted her.

Nicole nodded and fell asleep in Samuel's embrace.

The next morning, Edwin asked people to pick up Audrey and Morgan by helicopter.

Knowing that Nicole missed Audrey so much, Samuel brought her back to Edwin's house.

After their arrivals, it was lively in Edwin's house.

"Samuel, what are you doing here? My granddaughter will accompany me. You should go to work."

Edwin began to drive Samuel away.

"Grandfather, what are you talking about?"

As soon as she heard Edwin, Nicole felt depressed and complained.

However, Samuel smiled and said, "It doesn't matter. I happen to have something to do. Cara has been taken to the hospital, and Morgan is by her side. I also have hired a nanny to look after Cara. I finally can go to bring the children back. Mr. Shaw, I'll come back later with the children to bother you."

Just as Samuel finished speaking, his phone rang. When he saw the phone number, he changed his expression slightly.
