Michael leaned in with a slight smile and whispered in Amelia’s ear: “Do you know what I love most about you?”
Amelia looked up at him eagerly: “What?”
Michael gently lifted her chin and kissed her softly: “I love the way you look when you tell me you love me.”
Amelia blushed, her face glowing with the unexpected affection.
“Oh, that reminds me!” Her eyes suddenly sparkled with an idea.
She marched over to me, dragging my barely conscious form before Michael.
With a triumphant smirk, she pressed her foot on my head and declared: “Darling, this is the woman who sneaked into the villa. I’ve already taught her a lesson for
you.”
I was a pitiful sight–my hair singed, scalp injured, face swollen and bloodied, with my severed tongue still bleeding.
Michael barely glanced at me, his expression one of revulsion.
Turning back to Amelia, he said: “Well done. But next time, avoid getting your
hands dirty. I wouldn’t want you to injure that beautiful face of yours…”
