Mrs. Harrington cast a meaningful glance at Mrs. York, her lips curving into a polite, perfunctory smile.
Suddenly, Serena exclaimed, “Bro, you drop your fork?”
Alexander looked somewhat pale and appeared to be in low spirits, “Oh. I didn’t notice. I’ll get another one.”
Mrs. Harrington said with concern, “You must be under a lot of work pressure lately. Always buried in work, you don’t even take care of yourself.”
Mrs. York sighed, “If you ask me, Alex should get a girlfriend. Being in a relationship can really improve the quality of life. Look at Ty, he used to be just like that, but now he’s much better, even learns to take breaks.”
Tyrone was pleased, lightly teasing Quintessa’s nose, “Did you hear that? That’s a compliment for you.”
Quintessa blushed with a shy smile.
Alexander felt a bit uncomfortable, “Right now, I haven’t thought much about it. The law firm just started, so I need to focus on work first.”
“Oh dear, I’ve told him a hundred times. The main problem is that our Alex is too picky. He doesn’t fancy ordinary girls. In this regard, he can’t compare to Ty. I mean as long as a girl is kind and sensible, why be so picky?”
Mrs. York clenched her teeth internally. Mrs. Harrington’s habit of always trying to one-up others hadn’t changed over the years, always positioning herself and her family as somehow superior.
