Miranda struggled to sit up, “Where am I? I don’t want to be here. Dad.”
A doctor spoke up, “The patient’s emotional state is too erratic. To prevent her from hurting herself or others, give her an injection of a sedative.”
Soon, several nurses held Miranda down and injected a sedative into her neck.
Miranda’s eyelids grew heavier, and the scene before her eyes began to shake. Before losing consciousness, she vaguely saw Sean and struggled to say, “Dad, where is here.”
A flicker of pain crossed Sean’s eyes.
“Don’t blame Dad, and don’t hate me. If you’re going to hate someone, hate Quintessa. She forced me into this. If you get out, seek her out for revenge.”
On the way back to the York family, Quintessa couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you so kind to me?”
Mrs. York shifted uncomfortably, “Well, it was me who told Ty to bring you over. If you got bullied, it would reflect badly on me. Besides, if it had been anyone else, I might not have cared. But that woman was Susan Harrington. If I let her bully you, then I’d never hear the end of it from my son.”
Tyrone chuckled, “Mom, am I really like that?”
“Are you not?”
“I guess before you always just tolerated Mrs. Harrington. Now that it’s come to this, what are we going to do in the future?”
