Lilian pushed Quintessa away, “Back off! If we were somewhere else, I’d end you right now.”
Quintessa had schemed against her, sent her to prison, and ruined her daughter’s life. She was itching to tear Quintessa apart, skin her alive.
Quintessa took off her glasses, revealing her striking eyes: “I came here to talk to you about Sean Young. If you’re interested, we can talk. If not, well, it’s not my problem. If you want to get out only to die, I won’t stop you.”
“Wait, what do you mean?”
“If you’re interested, let’s talk!”
Quintessa noticed Lilian hesitating. Lilian glanced at the car window, a battle raging in her eyes. She seemed afraid of the person inside.
As Quintessa glanced at the opaque window, it suddenly lowered slightly, revealing a pair of eyes as dark as ink, impenetrable and deep. In that moment, Quintessa felt a shiver down her spine, the chilly air creeping up from her feet. Under the blazing sun, she felt no warmth.
“Andrew, I need a moment, just another 10 minutes.” Lilian said to the person inside the car, her voice dry, lacking her usual arrogance, even sounding somewhat pleading.
Quintessa was surprised. This person must have some power to make Lilian, of all people, so afraid. This person must hold a significant position within the Yates family.
As Quintessa wondered, the person inside the car suddenly spoke: “You’re Quintessa.”
His voice was as cold as his gaze, devoid of any warmth, confidently stating Quintessa’s name.
Quintessa gave a slight smile, “Yes, Dolores’ daughter.”
She knew her mother’s death had connections to the Yates family, and she deliberately mentioned the name Dolores to disgust him.
