"Where's Dr. Rivers?" she inquired, expecting to find him by my side.

I explained, "He has other things to do, so he can't be here all the time." I understood that doctors often had busy schedules and couldn't always be present.

Ava's puzzlement grew, and she asked, "What about Lukas, where did he go?"

My face changed slightly, "He's here?"

Ava nodded, providing more information, "Yes, I was downstairs, and I saw him coming with Director Hopkins. He even asked me where you were."

My frown deepened, "But I didn't see him." The realization that Lukas had been in the hospital and had asked about me whereabouts without my noticing left me feeling uneasy.

My heart was suddenly in turmoil, trying to make sense of why Lukas would come and then leave without seeing me. It was unusual behavior for him, and I couldn't help but wonder if something had happened Ava tried to offer a possible explanation, "It's possible that there was an emergency, and he left temporarily." She wanted to ease my worry and provide a plausible reason for Lukas's unexpected departure.

I nodded absentmindedly, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of his sudden visit and departure. "It's possible," I repeated, trying to convince myself that there was a logical explanation for Lukas's actions.

Ava asked me, "Skylar, when are you leaving? I've brought back all the medicines the doctor prescribed for you, let me send you back with Director Hopkins."

I pursed my lips, "Let's wait a bit longer, Dr. Rivers asked me to wait a bit, I'll leave after he comes back"
