Chapter 35 

I gritted my teeth, my knuckles firmly shut with all my might and blood started oozing from my palms due to nails digging in on them. 

However, I still resolutely turned around and went back to the adjoining suite. 

God knows how much I wanted to burst in there and tear apart this despicable pair of 

scumbags! 

However, the last shred of my conscience told me, I couldn’t do that! 

I couldn’t act impulsively. I need a sober and sane plan. 

With the double hatred burning for both love and career, I couldn’t just let it go like this. 

I wanted revenge, to take back everything that belonged to me, and send these despicable people to hell, making them pay tenfold! 

I also had to find a way to deal with my mother. During his lifetime, my father saved his money and left me a relevant and sizable fortune, which was all his heart and soul saved 

little by little. 

I can’t do anything rash and let my father’s legacy be taken away from them! 

The next morning, I woke up with pair of panda eyes. My eye makeup and mascara from last night have smudged from all the crying that took place, leaving dark marks beneath my 

eyes. 

I arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau in my area, and it didn’t take me long to see Bella arriving on Hugo’s arm. Only, instead of the elation of an impending marriage, Hugo’s face 

looked very! 

Bella pampered him and led him inside the Civil Affairs Bureau. 

I smiled coldly and took a picture of them entering the civil office hand in hand. 

Chapter 35 

As soon as the two of them stepped into the Civil Affairs Bureau, I immediately called Hugo. 

“Hugo, where are you?” I asked. As soon as the call was connected, I recorded the call. 

“Ah…I, uh…there’s an urgent matter at my company, so I left early in the morning, and I didn’t have time to tell you!” Hugo chuckled nervously, his voice a bit tense. 

‘Oh! Is that right? I thought you were apologising to me, but in reality you were still 

my face. sneaking around with Bella behind my back!” I said with a sarcastic smile on 

Hugo’s voice stiffened and he forced a smile. ‘How could it be! Sophia, you’ve always been. my favourite.‘ 

At that moment, Bella shook his arm, signalling him to say something about the design. 

Hugo hesitated and said, ‘By the way, I forgot to tell you, can you let Bella have that latest jewellery design? She is, after all, 

your sister.” 

“Didn’t Bella just finish participating in the city–level jewelry competition? Why does she need another design?” My face remained expressionless as I spoke. 

“Well, you see, Bella will be participating in the Century Jewelry Competition held by Strakovski Jewelry the day after tomorrow. That’s the gateway to the world jewelry competition, and it’s crucial for her. She’s not satisfied with the designs she has, but she really likes your latest design. Can you…?” Hugo explained. 

He was truly shameless! 

After getting married to another woman, he still had the audacity to ask me for my designs. Truly, there was no one else like Hugo Roberts! 

I took a deep breath. Now was not the time to tear his face off, I talked to myself inside of my head repeatedly. “Well, I love that design too. Like it very much! It’s my hard work, after all! And I’m going to enter it as my design.‘ I calmly protested against his wish. 

“Oh, Skylar, how can you be so stingy? Bella is at a crucial point in her career right now and she really needs our help. As for you, you have me. After we get married, you can be a full–time housewife. What do you need these empty titles for? The whole Trifleming Jewelry

1 hung up the phone straight away. 

After ending the call, I immediately sent the photo I took earlier to the media I was familiar 

with. 

The photo clearly captured Hugo’s profile. 

Everyone knew that Skylar was Hugo Roberts’s girlfriend. They have been together for two years, after all. Although the woman in the photo only showed her back, none of the features matched her. 

I wanted to see how Hugo would face the media’s questions! 

How would he explain this to me? 

I would indeed help Bella become famous in our location–Mediopolis! 

Unbeknownst to Hugo, I had a deep hatred boiling inside me.

I raised my head and saw the man’s face clearly: thick eyebrows, a high nose bridge, sexy, thin lips, delicate features, a cold and sharp visage, he was extremely handsome, and that from. was a face that was difficult to look away 

He furrowed his brows and frowned, and I was overwhelmed by the intensity of his gaze. 

Those cold eyes… 

These were…Lukas Strakovski’s eyes.
