But I insisted on refusing. “Mr Strakovski, really, there’s no need. Cole is my senior, and he doesn’t know where Ava is hospitalized. I promised Ava that I would bring Cole over 

Lukas was thoroughly rejected, and his face turned cold, looking displeased. 

How could he not know? If I wanted to ride in his car, I could simply tell Cole the hospital and ward number. 

In the end, I just didn’t want to ride in his car. 

Lukas never imagined that things would turn out like this when he told all those things to me before. 

He only wanted me not to have any inappropriate thoughts, but he never asked me to avoid him like he was a pack of wolves and tigers. Lukas felt extremely uncomfortable. 

He glanced coldly at me and let out a cold snort, “Suit yourself.” 

After saying that he closed the car window and drove away. 

I took in a couple of lungfuls of exhaust fumes, feeling

Cole glanced at me, “You just rejected Mr Strakovski. He might get angry.” 

While shaking my head, I sat in the passenger seat, “You’re thinking too much. What I did aligns perfectly with his intentions.” 

I didn’t say the rest of my thoughts. Most likely, Lukas’s actions were a test to see how I would respond 

If I got in his car, I would likely be reprimanded again, and my face wasn’t thick enough for that 

When I and Cole arrived at the hospital, Lukas 

as had just gotten out of his car 

He saw me and Cole but ignored us and walked towards the in–patient department. 

Cole was a bit surprised, “Mr Strakovski is also coming to the hospital?” 

He thought Lukas had come specifically to take me to the hospital. 

I nodded, “His friend is also hospitalized, right next to Ava.” 

Colé understood 

As we went upstairs, we opened the door to the ward. 

A notebook was placed in front of Ava, and she was typing away with her fingers on the keyboard, her brows furrowed. This sight made my heart skip a beat. 

Even at this time, she didn’t forget about work, 

She was operating the computer with only one hand, which seemed incredibly challenging. She hadn’t noticed anything unusu until she heard me cough lightly. 

Ava suddenly looked up and saw the familiar figure standing there.

My face twitched. I knew that Ava must have thought of the computer as her baby, and now, she was acting so out of character front of her love interest, Cole. Ava might go crazy later. 

Cole’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked at me. “Is she referring to the computer as her baby?” 

I couldn’t help but smile, “Yes, I’m used to it” 

Cole joked. “I had no idea she had this habit”

Ava’s face blushed, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed. She glared at me, upset give her a heads–up about Cole’s arrival. Now she felt completely embarrassed. 

Ava looked like a wilted eggplant, sitting down in a sulky mood, secretly stealing glances at Cole. 

I walked over, picked up the laptop, and smiled, “Stop sneaking glances. Cole came to see you” 

Ava’s face reddened even more, and she scolded me, “Stop making things up. 

Cole didn’t pay much attention to it. He walked over, sat down beside the hospital bed, and smiled at Ava, “How did you manage to get a broken arm? Be more careful next time you go downstairs.” 

Blushing. Ava said, “I was lost in thought and accidentally fell downstairs.” 

I held back my laughter and didn’t expose Ava’s lie. 

Cole nodded 

“Be more careful going
