Chapter 417 Suddenly Appeared

Geraldine glared at me, her face very unpleasant. Upon hearing Sebastian’s words, she became even more upset, coldly saying, “Angry? What right does Daniel have to be angry? If his father knew he was keeping a woman here, he would be the first to kill him. He is supposed to marry me, how can he mess around behind my back? Beating her is considered light, I am here now, ready to kill her.”

Sebastian furrowed his brows, unmoving, still standing in front of me. He spoke, “I was merely protecting her as per the gentleman’s wishes, Miss Geraldine. If there’s anything, let’s wait until the gentleman returns.”

“Move away!” Sebastian was pushed by Geraldine, but he didn’t budge, which only served to make Geraldine even angrier.

Seeing this, she immediately shouted at the people following behind her, “Are you all dead? Pull him away from me.”

For a moment, a crowd had gathered around, with some people accompanying Sebastian. However, it seemed that these people didn’t dare to offend Miss Geraldine, as none of them dared to step forward and speak.

With no obstacles in her way, Geraldine strode over to me in a few steps, glaring at me furiously. Catching sight of the medicine bottle in Marguerite’s hand, she raised her hand and smacked it to the ground with a loud smack. Still glaring at me, she said, “You’re not worthy of medicine, you wretch!”

I was sitting on the chair when I saw her raise her hand to hit me. Instinctively, I dodged her, caught her hand, frowned, and with a forceful push, I threw her hand off.

Seeing my resistance, her face turned even worse. She directly grabbed a chair from the side and hurled it at me.

“Ms. Conner!” Sebastian was stopped by someone, seeing that I was about to be hit, he could only shout in alarm.

I didn’t even have time to react, this Geraldine was so arrogant, hardly giving me a chance to resist, as if she wanted to strangle me to vent her

anger.

Seeing it about to crash down, I didn’t have time to dodge, instinctively I could only close my eyes and wait for the pain to pour over me.

“Bang!”

“Hiss!”

The sound of the chair falling was accompanied by a restrained gasp.

My brain was sluggish for a few seconds, realizing that there was no pain as I had imagined. I couldn’t help but open my eyes and look over in surprise. However, seeing the tall figure that had appeared in front of me, I was still stunned for a few seconds.

The towering figure in front of me blocked the chair that was originally supposed to hit me. The chair hit his arm squarely, and traces of blood faintly flowed down from his wrist.

“Daniel!” This was not my voice, but Geraldine’s. Her arrogant face didn’t have time to retract its expression, adding a few more degrees of astonishment and surprise. Her face, which was not particularly delicate to begin with, suddenly became somewhat distorted, not very pleasing to the eye.

Especially in front of handsome men like Ezra and Sebastian, she, as a woman, seemed even less attractive.

Ezra slightly furrowed his brows, not sure if it was due to pain. He didn’t look at her, but turned back to glance at me, his expression as cold as ever, asking, “Are you okay?”

I pursed my lips, neither shaking my head nor nodding, just looking at him, the astonishment in my heart still lingering.

Seeing that I remained silent, he seemed to have no expectation of a response from me. Instead, he turned back to Geraldine, his voice cold and distant, “Finished venting? I’ll arrange for someone to take you

home.”

In his words, there was not even a hint of blame, only indifference and unfamiliarity, as if the person standing in front of him was someone he barely knew.

Geraldine was already pale, but upon hearing his words, she became utterly speechless. She opened her mouth, her brows furrowed tightly, wanting to speak, but perhaps it was because Ezra didn’t even give her a glance.

For a moment, he could only purse his lips, swallowing his words. After shooting me a resentful glance, he slowly turned to Ezra and said, “Daniel, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Ezra didn’t respond, instead he completely turned around, looking at me, his gaze falling on the wound on my body, the furrow between his brows deepening even more.
