The three of them looked at Jalen. Elaina prayed that he would refuse. After all, she really did not want to eat with Jalen.

It would spoil her mood.

“You can decide,” Jalen said, but this was not what Elaina wanted to hear.

Elaina was speechless.

“Dr. Gainsford, Jalen has no objections. What do you think?” She looked at Elaina with a smile and anticipation.

Elaina was extremely unwilling to eat with them. She looked at Theodore and asked, “What do you think?”

She kept winking at Theodore, but Theodore said, “I have no objections.”

Elaina thought in surprise, no objections?

Theodore, what do you want to do?

Marie and Elaina sat together. Jalen and Theodore sat side by side, and Jalen happened to sit across from Elaina. When she raised her head, she could see Jalen, which made Elaina feel uncomfortable.

“Dr. Gainsford, is he your boyfriend? He looks so outstanding. No wonder you didn’t let me introduce a date to you.” Marie looked at Theodore, who was dressed so nobly and felt a little jealous of Elaina.

Jalen chuckled and said, “Mr. Murphy is an upstart of New York. Of course, he is outstanding.”

“You flatter me, Mr. Halton. Compared to you, I still need to work harder,” Theodore smiled and did not take Jalen’s compliment seriously.

Jalen’s face darkened, and he thought, did he see me as a goal?

Jalen sneered in his heart, you want to surpass the Halton Group? You can’t do that even if I give you another hundred years.

“He is so outstanding that he is indeed worthy of Dr. Gainsford,” Marie said, but she could not help but feel jealous.

Elaina was once Marie’s attending doctor, but Elaina didn’t think that they were familiar enough to discuss

private matters.

What was more, she did not have a good impression of Marie.

And Elaina disliked Jalen all the more and found him annoying.

“Sorry, Dr. Gainsford. I should not have asked too much.” Marie’s eyes instantly turned red. She bit her lips

and felt extremely wronged. “I thought we were already friends.”
