Chapter 221
At the Gansburg’s home, Elaina comforted Jenica’s parents before leaving.
As soon as she walked out, she called Theodore and Andrew. Unsurprisingly, she did not get any
useful information. That person seemed to never exist, and she could not find any trace.
This made Elaina start to worry about Jenica, afraid that something would happen to her.
After thinking about it, Elaina called Jalen, hoping to get some clues from there.
“Ella,” Jalen’s deep voice came from the other side of the line. It sounded a little restrained, but
Elaina, who was anxious, did not hear anything strange.
“Do you have any news about Jenica?” Elaina asked. Her palms could not help sweating. If there was
no news from Jalen, she did not know what to do.
On the other side of the line, Jalen fell silent. He did not want to lie to Elaina, but when he thought of
Quincy, his best friend, it seemed that he could only compromise.
“Jalen?” without waiting for Jalen to speak, Elaina said again, her heart perturbed.
On the other hand, Jalen came back to his senses. “Sorry, Ella. I didn’t find anything.”
In an instant, Elaina felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave.
If even Jalen could not find any clues, then who could? Who exactly was that person?
Elaina had countless questions in her heart, but at this time, she could only force herself to calm down. “You can’t even find anything?”
“Yes.” Jalen nodded. He did not dare to say much, and countless guilt arose in his heart.
“The people you can’t find out in New York are limited. So it will be easy to investigate the rest and find out the identity of that person,” she remembered Theodore’s words and could not help but ask.
