Marie grew worried when noticing the change in Jalen.

Elaina ignored Jalen and Marie and whispered to Theodore, “I wonder when the item I sponsored will be

auctioned.”

She was quite curious about the final price.

“It’s still early. Mr. Dorthea’s new works haven’t been available in the market for so many years. Your painting must be the final auction item,” Theodore replied.

But he immediately shook his head and asked, “Are you sure it’s okay to donate his painting just like this?”

“He is my master and won’t say anything about it.” Elaina curled her lips with no worry and added, “Besides, he gave me that painting, so I have the right to decide what it’ll be used for.”

“That’s true. You are his last student. I don’t think he will blame you.”

“Of course, he’s very kind to me.”

They spoke in a low voice, so Jalen, who was sitting at the side, could not hear what they said. He could only see them talking and laughing, feeling enraged for no reason.

He thought, you just want to be her brother?

I don’t believe it!

As a man, he could see the affection in Theodore’s eyes and didn’t believe that Theodore only considered Elaina his sister.

Soon, the auction began, and everyone became quiet.

The first item was a diamond necklace sponsored by a rich man. When the host on stage mentioned his name, he even stood up and waved at everyone.

Theodore asked Elaina if she was interested. Elaina shook her head. She was never interested in a diamond.

She didn’t like it, but Marie was very excited. Her eyes lit up when she saw such a big diamond.

Jalen asked, “Do you like it?”

“Yes.” Marie nodded and quickly added, “But I can just take a look.”

She was being hypocritical. If she just wanted to take a look, she didn’t have to tell Jalen that she liked it.

Jalen bid and got it as expected. He did not look at the necklace and directly gave it to Marie. This made many people at the scene suspicious of the true relationship between them.

Those people wondered, is she really just his sister? I don’t believe it.

The auction continued. Elaina was not interested in the next few items, feeling bored and sleepy.
