After lunch, Elaina, Jalen, Corey, and Lilly left. The two kids still needed some time to adapt, and now, it was better for them to leave with Elaina.

Elaina agreed with the couple that the couple could pick up the two kids every day to spend some time together. After the formalities were completed, Corey and Lilly would officially become their children.

After dropping Elaina, Corey, and Lilly off at the gate of the community, Jalen was about to go to the company. Elaina urged him to go quickly since she didn’t want him to delay his work because of her.

After he left, Elaina took the two kids home.

She figured that it was already after lunch, so of course, Jazmin must have been up by now. Yet she realized that she was wrong after getting home. Jazmin was lazier than she thought.

Elaina knocked on the door of Jazmin’s room, and then Jazmin opened the door in a daze. When she saw Elaina, she complained, “What are you doing? Why are you knocking on my door so early? Don’t you know I’m sleeping?”

“Jazmin, what time is it now? How come you are still sleeping?” Elaina was angry. She didn’t get it. She thought, Xzavier is so diligent. How can he have such a lazy daughter?

Jazmin did not care at all. She came out of the room, saw the food on the table, and started to eat. “I always get up at this hour at home. Unlike you, I don’t need to toil.”

Jazmin thought, my mother tells me that I’m bound to live in ease and comfort. I’m so different from Elaina.

Elaina was so pissed off that she sneered, “Huh! So, you weren’t intending to find a job in

New York at all, right?”

Jazmin’s hands froze a bit, and she quickly shook her head. “You got me wrong. I can make changes, of course.”

She thought, if I said I wasn’t going to work, she’d send me right back.

I won’t go back whatsoever. I finally met a rich man. If I go back, he will be Elaina’s!

“Alright then. I will give you a chance.” Elaina nodded. Then she said to Jazmin, “We will go out in half an hour. I’ll take you to an interview. If you’re one minute late, go back to where you belong.”

“Elaina! You can’t do this…”
