Elaina almost laughed, but she held it in and said in mock sorrow, “Yes, he is a
scumbag.”
“Did he hurt you?” Jalen’s expression changed slightly and he wanted to beat Elaina’s ex-husband up.
“Yes,” Elaina nodded and said slowly, “I have been married to him for two years, but he did not come to see me. Do you think he is a bastard?”
“He is indeed a bastard.”
Jalen gritted his teeth and asked angrily, “Who is he?”
Elaina thought, my ex-husband is you.
Elaina forced a smile and shook her head. “Forget it, it has been passed. I just hope that
I will not have anything to do with him in the future.”
Hearing this, Jalen could not ask anymore, but he was still angry. “Don’t be too kind to a scumbag. If you can’t deal with him, I can help you.”
When he finished speaking, he found that Elaina was looking at him. Jalen felt a little embarrassed. “Don’t misunderstand, I just…”
“Mr. Halton, don’t tell me you want to chase me?” Elaina looked at Jalen and asked.
The surroundings instantly quieted down. Jalen almost subconsciously retorted, “That is impossible.”
Elaina looked at him meaningfully. Jalen explained, “I wanted to help you because you saved Marie. As you said, there is a possibility that Marie’s illness will relapse at any time.”
Hearing this, Elaina thought, Jalen is willing to do anything for Marie. So it is reasonable for him to help me now. After all, I may be able to save Marie in the future.
“That’s good. Because I am not interested in you,” Elaina said.
Jalen suppressed the anger in his heart, but when he thought of what he had just said, he could only suppress it.

“Although I am not close with you, I helped you last night. Do you think your current attitude is appropriate?” A low voice sounded. Jalen looked coldly at Elaina and could
not help but curse in his heart.
“Didn’t I say that I don’t like people with the surname Halton,” Elaina said again with a serious face, without any intention of joking at all.
“I…” Jalen almost couldn’t breathe. He thought, she hated all the people with the
surname Halton just because of her ex–husband?
Isn’t this too biased?
Not all of the people with the surname Halton are slag men.
