Chapter 61
She looked up, and their eyes met.
Elaina did not know if it was her illusion, but she felt that Jalen looked at her differently from before.
“It’s on me,” Jalen said.
“No, thanks. I still have the money for a meal,” Elaina chuckled with her chin in one of her hands.
She didn’t like Jalen, and she even hated him. She felt that she would have no appetite if she sat with him for a meal.
“Elaina, let’s talk.” In the end, Jalen was the first to compromise.
This made Elaina feel even more curious. There was no room to talk about between them.
“Let’s pretend that nothing happened before and get to know each other again. What do you think?” he asked, feeling very nervous.
Elaina laughed when she heard that. Then, she shook her head under Jalen’s gaze. “Not very good.”
“Why? I know what happened to the Gansburg family måde you unhappy. At worst, I will cooperate with the Gansburg family again. Is this okay?”
However, Elaina still shook her head. She leaned against the chair and looked at the man opposite her as if
she was watching a good show.
Jalen almost got angry. But when he thought that Elaina was his ex–wife, he felt sorry for her, so he calmed
down.
“Then what should I do?” he asked as if he had no other options.
Elaina stared at Jalen for a while, then said, “Actually, you already know, right?”
When she finished speaking, Jalen suddenly froze.
“I slapped you last night. Not only did you not find trouble with me today, you even took the initiative to ask
for peace. It’s really a little strange.
“Apart from the possibility of you being manipulated, the only reason is that you know everything.”
She was not a fool. On the contrary, Elaina had been a wise woman since she was young.
