Chapter 55 The Situation Is Much More Serious
When she woke up the next day, the person beside her was no longer there. Evelyn had barely fallen asleep from midnight until dawn. She even heard the faint sound of the door closing when Huston left.
She did not forget what had happened yesterday, including Jerry.
She sat up from the bed slightly. The soreness all over her body reminded her of how intense they had been last night. Her underwear was scattered all over the floor. She lowered her eyelids, and her eyes were slightly wet. She could not hide the disappointment in her eyes.
She took the phone and received countless missed calls and text messages. No matter how unwilling she was to face it, she had to face it. Everything had to be solved.
She found Lucy’s missed call and dialed it. Sure enough, the moment the call was connected, everything was in a mess.
“Evelyn, where are you now? You haven’t answered the phone all night. Your father and I are so anxious!”
She raised her hand and pinched the space between her eyebrows. “Mom, I’m fine.”
Lucy lowered her voice and asked, “Did you cause Jerry’s
Mom, where are you now? I’ll go over.”
“Your dad, I, and the Graves family are at the Royal Hospital. When you arrive, just call me. I’ll pick you up.”
Forty minutes later, Evelyn arrived at the Royal Hospital by taxi. Lucy went downstairs to pick her up in advance. They went upstairs together. As soon as they got out of the elevator, they were blocked by Nora.
Nora’s well-maintained face instantly twisted as she glared at Evelyn fiercely.
“Evelyn, you hurt my son so badly. How dare you come here?” A sharp voice pierced Evelyn’s eardrum.
“Is he awake?” Evelyn looked calm. Before coming here, she had already imagined everything that would happen, including Nora losing control.
“No!” Eddy Graves pointed at her face rudely. “If anything happens to my son, you don’t even think about getting away
with it!”
Without saying a word, Evelyn walked to the bench in the corridor and sat down. When she heard that Jerry was still faint, her face turned pale. “Don’t worry, I didn’t mean to get away with it.”
Seeing her like this, Lucy and Ben didn’t feel good, but they couldn’t complain at this time.
whether Jerry could wake up or not. When he did, everything would be fine.
Nearly an hour later, the nurse from the intensive care unit came out and said that the patient had woken up.
Nora cried and entered the ward. She walked to the bed and looked at Jerry, whose head was wrapped in gauze. Her tears fell even more. Ben felt a chill in his heart when he saw the
situation.
