Evelyn approached with skepticism, taking a step towards the car door when she heard the sound of the car unlocking with a click. She took a deep breath and opened the door, looking at the man in the driver’s seat. However, she didn’t move her feet. “What are you doing here?” 

Half of the man’s face was illuminated by the overhead light, while the other half remained concealed in darkness. She didn’t know how long he had been waiting there, but his voice was as deep as an echo from the depths of the sea. “Get in the car.” 

Evelyn was displeased with his assertive attitude and 

commanding tone. She instinctively resisted, “I…” 

“We can’t park here. Get in first, and then we’ll talk.”

“Do they get along well?” 

Evelyn’s heart skipped a beat, and she became nervous at the mention of this. “…They get along fine.”

“Huston, have you gone mad?! Did you just release the news about our child without my consent? Did you even bother to ask if I agreed or not?” Evelyn’s anger surged instantly, and she stared at him in disbelief. “When you told them, did you 

consider how they would treat our child? What if they don’t accept Lucas’s existence and end up hurting him? Have you thought about these questions? You keep saying you want the child, is this how you show your love? So selfish…” 

Every word she spoke cut deep, and before Huston could even argue, she had already stabbed him in the heart. From the beginning to the end, she had never truly believed in him. 

“They just want to hug their grandchild, nothing else,” Huston’s voice choked, interrupting her relentless barrage. 

Evelyn admitted that she had not been calm enough regarding Lucas’s situation. But she had no mental preparation for him to expose it openly like this. Could she handle it? She didn’t want Lucas to suffer even the slightest harm, whether physical or psychological. 

At this stage of his life, Lucas was forming his worldview. If 

someone said something to him, he would remember it for a 

lifetime and might hold resentment towards her and Huston. 

So when she heard Huston’s response, her immediate
