The Schuler family wasn't about to let things slide after what happened. They had sent people to take care of the issue, and they were determined to see it through. First off, they planned to bring the captives back and hand them over to Joey.
Jacob told Carly to head back and round up some reinforcements while he stayed put to keep an eye on things. It wasn't long before the Gilbert family got wind of the situation and rushed over.
Leading the charge was Jacob's father, Edward Gilbert, who also happened to be Joey's younger brother. He took one look at the five men sprawled on the ground, and his expression darkened with anger. "Take them back to the Gilbert estate!" he ordered.
"Yes, sir!"
Edward gave Flora a cold, assessing glance. So, this was the world champion everyone was talking about? It was hard to believe. Jacob and Carly could barely put up a fight against these five guys, yet here they were, thoroughly beaten. Something definitely didn't add up.
But this wasn't the place for discussions.
"Let's head home," Edward said, leading the way as Carly and Jacob followed with Flora in tow.

Over at the Schuler estate, Brandon was pacing back and forth, waiting for news that never came. His heart sank with each passing minute. He had sent top-notch fighters; surely, Carly, Jacob, and Abby couldn't have posed a real threat to them. There shouldn't have been any surprises.
"Dad!" Zavier burst in, looking worried. "Did you send people after Flora?"
Zavier had just been through the wringer at the Enforcement Division, and he looked pale and worn out. He'd been to the Medical Hall earlier and only just found out about Brandon's plans.
"We've suffered so much because of Flora. Are we just supposed to let it go?" Brandon asked, frowning at Zavier. "How are you holding up? Still feeling rough?"
