Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1400

In a flash, Jackson's tone shifted dramatically.

"I'll be right there," he said, hanging up the phone. He quickly dialed Fiona's number, but just like Nash had warned, it was busy every time he tried. His grip on the phone tightened, veins popping out on his hand, his eyes as cold as ice. Without missing a beat, he instructed his assistant to check the surveillance cameras around the villa.

"Whatever it takes, bring her back to me safe and sound." His words were enough to make his assistant break out in a cold sweat. The assistant nodded vigorously, hands trembling as he clutched the documents. In all the years he'd worked with Jackson, he'd never seen him this angry, though Jackson was known for being stone-faced and serious.

The assistant soon returned with the surveillance footage, and Jackson examined it meticulously, frame by frame. The footage showed Fiona leaving the villa and turning a corner, right into a blind spot. The screen froze on the last moment she was visible.

"Is this all?" Jackson asked, his gaze piercing.

Trembling, the assistant nodded. "We checked all the nearby cameras. This is all we could get."

Jackson was almost certain it was a planned kidnapping. He regretted not taking her to school himself.

"Keep digging," he ordered, throwing out the command before snatching his car keys and heading for the door.

"Mr. Woods, there's a meeting later... Are you sure you want to—"

Jackson turned, his grip on the door handle firm, his eyes icy. "Do you really think I'm in the mood for a meeting?"

The assistant lowered his gaze, nodding silently.
