Alexa watched intently, her skepticism about alternative medicine evident. Seriously, what could those tiny silver needles even do?
But Selene was a renowned prodigy, having even joined a prestigious medical organization. Alexa couldn't help but respect her.
She tried to secretly learn, but it was all Greek to her.
After half an hour, Selene put away the acupuncture needles. Hudson, eyes closed, felt a noticeable lift in his fatigue.
"Selene, your skills have really leveled up! I feel a lot better. Am I cured?" he asked, surprised.
Selene shook her head. "Uncle Hudson, I can't cure you. I've just eased your symptoms for now. Your condition is still very serious."
"What should we do then?" Hudson panicked. If Selene was stumped, who else could save him?
After a moment's thought, Selene said, "Uncle, there's someone. If she agrees to help, I'm sure you'll recover. But convincing her will be tough."
"Who?" Hudson asked, confident there wasn't a person he couldn't persuade.
"A student from the University of Maple Grove's medical school, Flora."
The room fell into a dead silence.
"You said who?" Hudson was sure he'd misheard.
Alexa, standing nearby, was just as shocked.
"Uncle, do you know her?" Selene asked, noticing his strange reaction. "If even Flora can't cure you, then no one can."
Despite not wanting to admit it, Selene knew Flora's skills were out of her league.
Hudson's face turned a mix of dark and pale—a real emotional rollercoaster.
How could it be her!
"Ms. Brianna, Flora may be talented, but aren't you laying it on a bit thick?" Alexa couldn't help but interject.
