Flora was really shaking things up!
Mr. Tanner was just as surprised as everyone else; he never thought they'd catch the jury's attention like this.
"I've always heard about the Medical League having a jury, but this is the first time I've actually seen one in action!"
"The fact that Flora's work has even gotten the jury all worked up is just wild..."
At first, people were whispering about it, but as the excitement built, they couldn't keep their voices down.
The whole square was abuzz, with hundreds of folks all talking about one person—Flora.
...
In the surveillance room, Abbey's face twisted with envy, her insides burning with jealousy. She let out a painful whimper.
She had planned for Flora to make a fool of herself, but instead, Flora had become the star of the show!
No way was she letting the jury see Flora's test.
She rushed to the jury's room, catching Mr. Jordan at the door.
"Ms. Abbey," he said, surprised to see her but still polite.
Even though Abbey's antics during the prelims had rubbed people the wrong way, she was still the White family's eldest daughter, and that came with some respect.
Abbey glanced at the printed test in his hand and put on a puzzled face. "Mr. Jordan, aren't you supposed to be grading? What brings you here?"
"Oh, it's like this! In this round, one of the tests was just... different," Mr. Jordan struggled to articulate. "I wasn't sure how to score it, so I thought the jury should weigh in."
Abbey's nails were nearly digging into her palm, but she kept her cool.
