Claire and Kate look at Luke. He says, “you still have something to do in America.”
“Why not? You are so naive. Do you want Claire to let go of her hatred? Don’t think about it!” Kate sneers.
“Kate, this is Claire’s own business. Why don’t you let her decide?” Luke looks at Kate and contradicts her.
“You are naive. The victim is not you. Of course you don’t care. You don’t care about Claire, but I care about her! Who else in the world cares about her life?”
“Kate!”
“Luke! What do you want to do? Do you want to fight with me?” Kate jumps up and pulls up her sleeve and looks at Luke viciously.
They begin to quarrel again. Claire has a headache. She has to be a peacemaker and speaks impatiently, “stop arguing! I have a headache!”
“No way!” Kate is naturally straightforward. She can’t keep a secret.
Kate gives Luke a provocative look and says, “Claire, I have a secret to tell you. Luke said he wants you to let go of the hate and explain the misunderstanding with Leo!”
“What?” Claire looks at Kate in shock. After she hears Kate, she takes a look at Luke and asks, “is what she said true?”
Today is a very chaotic day. Luke didn’t expect Kate to tell the secret. Should he say she’s cute or stupid?
Luke’s little affection for Kate fades. He nods displeased. “Well, she’s right.”
“Why?” Claire’s first reaction is this. She doesn’t understand why Luke, who has been between her and Leo, has this idea. Does he feel tired?
But Claire thinks it makes sense. She’s between Luke and Kate and wants them to get along. At least they don’t quarrel like enemies when they meet.
Maybe she has the same idea as Luke.
But to Claire’s surprise, the misunderstanding between her and Leo is too deep. Whether there’s a misunderstanding or not, it’s a fact that Leo killed her father.
How can she let go of her hatred and make up with Leo?
Claire suddenly understands the strange conversation between Kate and Luke.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
