"What’s so funny?" Kate asked, irritation creeping into her voice.

"I just remembered an old saying," Allison replied, her eyes dancing with a dismissive amusement. "I wonder if Ms. Sabrina has ever heard the tale of the ugly duckling trying to mimic a swan?"

Kate's face flushed with embarrassment and anger. Of course, she knew the story.

"Allison, I've met my fair share of narcissists, but never anyone as self-absorbed as you. What, you think this look is your signature style? Only you can pull it off?" Kate stood there, arms crossed, daring Allison to respond.

Allison chuckled, clearly entertained. "Oh, it’s definitely not my trademark. I get it, Ms. Sabrina. You just happened to wear an outfit like mine, have the same hairstyle, similar makeup, and even the same perfume. All just a big coincidence, right? You’re certainly not trying to copy me, just a happy accident."
