Heart Stolen by A Heartless Man novel Chapter 13

Shortly after the doctor left the room, Jensen immediately said, "Hattie, come abroad with me; which country do you like? We’ll go visit there and you can get treatment."

Hattie shook her head and withdrew her hand from Jensen’s clasp.

"I don't want to go abroad with you; don't worry about me. I want to return to the countryside..."

She could still vividly remember Greyson's warning, and she didn’t want to burden Jensen.

"In your current condition, how would you even get back to the countryside? If you can’t get treatment in time, you might end up dead!" Jensen nervously said.

Hattie lowered her eyes, but her pale white face looked indifferent, "So what... Jensen, whether I live or die has nothing to do with you. I don't like you, leave me alone."

Jensen continued to hold Hattie’s hand and said, “I know you don’t like me, but it’s enough that I like you. If you don’t want to go abroad, then we won’t go; I’ll bring a doctor from abroad back to treat you..."

"No need!" Hattie raised her voice, and her expression soured, "I told you, Jensen, leave me alone! Have you no shame? Why do you continue to harass me?"

She didn’t want to get the innocent Jensen involved.

Greyson was a devious man. If he wanted to raise a hand against Jensen, then Jensen and his entire company would suffer. Greyson doesn’t spare mercy at all!

"Hattie, you must be tired; get some rest first." Jensen withdrew his hand with sorrow, then he stood up and said, "You rest first, I’ll come visit you again later."

After he finished speaking, Jensen left the hospital room.

Hattied watched his back as he left, a bitter feeling lingered in her heart.

She was going to die soon, so she mustn’t have feelings for him...

Right now, she didn’t want to burden anyone.

Even now, Jensen took care of her as he always did; when Hattie’s fever left, he brought her back to his villa to personally take better care of her.

But the more he behaved like this, the more Hattie must be determined to leave.

Once she had recovered enough to walk, she would quietly pack her bags and escape into the night.

Deep in the night, the villa was dead silent.

Hattie packed the few belongings she had and quietly left the room.

“I’m aware that the company has huge troubles right now… Just sell it off.” It was Jensen’s voice, filled with tones of exhaustion and helplessness. “We can’t beat Greyson, might as well cut losses now before we go bankrupt. I want to take Hattie abroad… I’m still young and I’m not afraid, I can always start over abroad, it’s nothing much.”
