Rowan came out from Finnley’s house and her face was still flushed.
This was the first time that she let go of her dignity for a man.
She had never thought of taking the initiative to mention marriage in her lifetime.
But as long as she could be together with Greyson, she could do everything.
Rowan left with a smile.
...
The days were passing day by day.
Daily medical check ups, handfuls of medicine and Jensen’s increasing worrying look.
Hattie looked paler and slimmer.
She knew that she had limited time to live.
She did not want to continue living.
If she continued to live, she would only become Jensen’s burden.
In addition, Greyson would not be upset for her death, right?
Perhaps, he had already forgotten her.
Hattie looked at the trees outside of the window and she was seemingly unconscious.
Jensen looked at her spiritless look and felt even more anxious.
He went for a doctor before but the doctor said that it was incurable and the possible thing that could be done was only extending her lifetime. If she cooperated actively, she had at least three to five years to live. But, as it appeared now, her desire to survive was not strong.
In other words, if she would not want to live anymore, even a doctor could not save her.
Suddenly, Jensen said, “Hattie, I hope that you don’t run away from this. I ask you one more time, do you marry me?”
Hattie turned to look at him like a machine.
Throughout these times, he appeared even thinner and more haggard because of her.
How could she let him be labeled as a widower without knowing when?
He was still young and having countless possibilities. He should not be roped together with her.
“I am sorry, Jensen.” Hattie said, “Please forgive me for rejecting you.”
Jensen hung down the corner of his mouth and said with a bitter smile, “Oh really? I know it, I do not want to force you, I am sorry.”
“I should be the one who apologizes” Hattie said, “If I do not appear, your life will not turn out to be like this.”
“Do you want to have a look at him?” asked Jensen.
“... Why would I want to meet him?” Hattie turned her head away and said, “That’s it.”
“Hattie, why don’t you want to live? The doctor said that your lifetime can be extended more for three to five years.” said Jensen.
“But, I need to struggle for more than three to five years. Instead of that, I want to die.” Hattie sighed and said, “You also know how bad the attack of toxicity towards my body is.”
Jensen looked at the wounds on her exposed skin and closed his eyes. He said, “Ok, I understand.”
