Chapter 425 

Laura and Beatrice completely lost it and burst into tears. 

Only Agnes managed to keep her cool. 

“Thank you, Doctor. What should we do next?” 

“You need to get the patient admitted now, and deposit some cash into the patient’s medical card for treatment expenses. Keep in mind that these expenses could be sky–high, as the patient needs to be under intensive care.” 

For the rest of the time, Agnes was tied up in handling all these procedures. 

The car accident had also caused a pile–up with two other vehicles. 

The cops came by in the afternoon to investigate the scene. 

Agnes went to the police station to give her statement. 

By evening, she was back at the hospital. 

Preston was in the ICU. 

Laura was crying outside the room. 

A lot of people came to see him. 

There were executives from the company, and some artists who had been tight with Preston. 

“Laura, you gotta toughen up. With Mr. Pritchard in this state, Starlight International Group is on your shoulders now. And remember, as long as there’s life, there’s hope. Mr. Pritchard will pull through.” 

Laura couldn’t stop crying, “How could he be so heartless, lying there without a care in the world, while all the bankruptcy shit of Starlight International Group falls on me. Beatrice is so young and Agnes doesn’t give a damn. Are they trying to kill me?” 

Laura was crying her eyes out. 

Her old pals were all heartbroken to see her like this. 

Agnes walked over. 

-Beatrice started to pick a fight, “Dad’s in there, hanging by a thread, and you, the big star, can take it easy. Agnes, you’re so cold–blooded. You haven’t shed a tear 

since the beginning. You’re so ruthless.” 

As Beatrice finished, all eyes were on Agnes. 

In a flash, everyone was questioning, doubting, their faces a mix of emotions. 

Agnes didn’t give a damn. 

She walked up to Beatrice, her face expressionless, “What good does crying do? Does it magically handle all the hospital procedures and treatment plans? When something happens, you take care of crying, and I handle the rest.” 

“Agnes, you…” 

Agnes left Beatrice speechless, shaking in anger. 

Preston’s old friends started to comfort Agnes. 

They praised her for being cool–headed and able to manage the situation, calling her a responsible individual. 

They left shortly. 

Only then did Agnes ask Laura, “You said something about Starlight International Group going bankrupt. What’s up with that?”
