Agnes said, “The Whitfields ain’t some ATM for us Pritchards. They ain’t obligated to save Starlight International, and I ain’t gonna go begging them.” With Agnes‘ current relationship with the Whitfield family, how could she possibly ask them for help? Alyssa was the one who killed her mom. 

If she went begging to the Tim Group to save Starlight International, she would end up a laughingstock. 

Beside her, Beatrice sneered, “Agnes, you still care about your pride now? Can’t even ask for this small favor, and you call yourself a Whitfield, your father’s daughter?” 

After saying this, Beatrice threw herself against the glass outside the ward and sobbed, “Dad, look at how heartless your daughter is. You even gave her 20% of Starlight International’s shares.” 

The Whitfields held 45% of Starlight International’s shares overall. 

20% of which was Agnes‘. 

Starlight International was founded by her parents. 

Her mom once held 20% of Starlight International’s shares. 

After her mom passed away, her father transferred these shares to Agnes before getting married. 

Because of this, Laura and Preston nearly came to blows for ten years. 

Agnes said, “I will find another way. I won’t ask the Whitfields, and neither should you.” 

Beatrice turned her head, her eyes full of curiosity, even anticipation, “Agnes, have you divorced Jared?” 

“Who said we’ve divorced?” A cold male voice came from behind. 

Everyone turned to look at the corridor. 

Jared was walking over leisurely. 

Dressed in a suit, he looked like he just came from a business meeting. 

Agnes found it strange. 

Didn’t Jared say he was going on a business trip to Japan? 

Jared had already reached them. 

Laura politely said, “Jared, you’re here.” 

“Sorry, Ms. Laura, I rushed back from Tokyo as soon as I heard. I’m a bit late.” 

When Laura heard this, she began to tear up again, “So unlucky, why am I so miserable? If your dad passes away, the Pritchards are done for.” 

Jared said, “Dad will be fine.” 

Then he turned his gaze to Agnes. 

Agnes had been hanging her head, not looking at Jared. 

She was discussing divorce with Jared, but she didn’t want Laura and Beatrice to know about their affairs yet. 

Because she knew that’s what they were hoping for. 

Jared reached out to touch Agnes’s hair, pulled her into his arms, and patted her back like comforting a child, “Dad will be fine. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything.”
