Chapter 477 

After leaving Maplewood Manor, Agnes felt her heart banging against her throat. 

Her recent reaction was entirely instinctual. 

In that situation, the last thing she wanted was to get involved with Jared. 

But she had no clue how to stop his advances, so she blurted out that she was pregnant. 

That was the only way to make Jared back off, 

Later, she came up with some random reason. 

This was the second time she saw disappointment in Jared’s eyes. 

The first time was when he thought she was pregnant and took her to the hospital for a check–up. 

But the results showed that she wasn’t. 

Even though she dodged a bullet, Agnes felt that Jared was just too angry and disappointed to think straight. 

He would come to his senses soon and realize the truth. 

Knowing Jared, he would definitely dig deeper to verify. 

Agnes felt it was time to leave, the sooner the better. 

She had already divorced Jared, and there was no turning back. She didn’t want to complicate things further. 

As Agnes grabbed her suitcase ready to leave, she realized her phone was missing. 

She had no idea where she lost it, probably inside Maplewood Manor, 

That would be a problem. Her phone had all her messages with Kerri Bradford. 

Jared would figure it out in a heartbeat. 

Agnes knew Jared would find out sooner or later. 

She had to get out of there, tonight. 

Penniless, phoneless, and in the dead of night, Agnes couldn’t even hail a cab. She had to carry her suitcase and walk to the Pritchard family villa. 

Even though it was far, all she could feel was panic, and she couldn’t think of any solution. 

After about two hours of walking, Agnes was almost there. 

There was no one on the street. Agnes was very tired and didn’t even notice a car parked nearby. 

The person in the car was watching her, with a cold stare. 

It was Beatrice, holding a copy of the ultrasound report. 

The report had Agnes‘ name on it, 14 weeks pregnant. 

What the hell!? Why is this happening!? 

Two days ago, Agnes announced her divorce with Jared to the media and her retirement from the showbiz. 

Beatrice was overjoyed, as if a long–held wish had been fulfilled. Beatrice celebrated and even got drunk. She was overjoyed. 

This woman was finally divorced, she won’t have anything to do with Jared ever again. 

She didn’t have to call Jared her brother–in–law anymore. 

Beatrice fantasized about the day she would become Mrs. Whitfield. 

She felt like she had never been happier in her life. 

That day, she came to see Agnes make a fool of herself.
