As Skylar listened on by the side, he suddenly pointed out. "That's because this isn't the first child she's lost."
In the livestream chat where people had been furiously debating, messages came to an abrupt halt. Olivia looked over at Skylar with questioning eyes.
Skylar solemnly explained, "I can tell from her house of children that she had a daughter before this, but the child died young. This is her second daughter."
A heavy silence fell over both the livestream chat and the lobby. Now, everyone understood Edith's earlier breakdown. She'd lost one child and was now suffering the horror of potentially losing another, so any mother would collapse.
She'd fought through despair and found the strength to move on from the first tragedy, but having to do it another time was heartbreaking.
No one could bear to imagine what would happen to her if they couldn't find Paisy. She'd probably live the rest of her life in regret and guilt…
The female officer at the desk had red-rimmed teary eyes as she focused on the monitor and searched through surveillance footage to find any clue that could help catch the traffickers.
Soon enough, the police confirmed the van's route and sent nearby patrol cars out with instructions to stop them as soon as possible.
Olivia couldn't be of any help and looked at Skylar. She'd considered asking him if he could read Paisy's safety when an elderly lady burst into the lobby.
The elderly lady had a sharp and severe look. As she entered, she scanned the room and rushed to Edith. She slapped Edith hard across the face and began shouting furiously.
"Good lord, what did we do to deserve a daughter-in-law like you? You can't even keep an eye on the child! What good are you! How dare you cry!"
