Hello, Mr. Brent novel Chapter 238

Emily was embarrassed. She never expected that the guest was not Avery, but Mrs. Brent.

Now she understood what the butler and Franklin meant. She wished she could run back to the small garden and hide from Mrs. Brent.

Mrs. Brent's eyes were red with anger. She pointed at Emily and said, "You don't even want me to come here just because you want to hide it from me? So many years have passed. Why do you still let her be by your side and don't let her go?"

Franklin's expression darkened and he said coldly, "I said you don't have to care about my business. Didn't I make it clear last time?"

Mrs. Brent was stunned and of course, she knew what he meant. She could not help but blush. She was ashamed and angry but felt even more aggrieved.

She couldn't help but redden her eyes and start to sob. As she sobbed, she said, "I've worked so hard to raise you. I've given up so much for you, and I've sacrificed a lot for you. You treat me like this for a woman today. Do you have any conscience?"

Emily listened awkwardly. This was the first time she had heard Mrs. Brent say such a thing. After all, in the past, Mrs. Brent, no matter how sad she was, had to show off her demeanor as Brent Family's lady. The words she said this time indicated that she was completely helpless.

However, Franklin was obviously not a pushover. Hearing her cry like this, he sighed and said slowly, "You are not the same kind of people. Why do you have to compare yourself to her? You are my mother and the lady of the Brent Family. Why do you have to humiliate yourself?"

Emily,"..."

She was furious instantly and stared at him angrily.

What did he mean by saying that Mrs. Brent's comparison to her was a humiliation to Mrs. Brent. Then. in his eyes, what was she? What did he think of her again?

Franklin's words really saved Mrs. Brent's dignity in front of Emily. Mrs. Brent looked at Emily's angry red face. As a woman, how could she not understand? She immediately curled her lips and stopped being angry.

Wiping away her tears, she said to Franklin, "Well, I'm relieved to hear that. Mother is not unreasonable. Since you insist on doing so, I can only indulge you. You're my son. But you said you would marry Avery, and now you're entangled with her. Aren't you afraid that Avery will be angry? Although those photos were suppressed by you and didn't leak out, it's hard to guarantee that someone with ulterior motives wouldn't take them to Avery and tell her about it."

"You don't have to worry about this. I'll handle it myself," Franklin said.

Mrs. Brent sighed and said, "Well, since you have said so, then I'll let you do what you want! You won't listen to me as you have grown up. I can't do anything about you. You'd better be aware of what you are doing. Alas, it's a man's ability to keep a wife at home while having mistresses outside."

After saying that, Mrs. Brent glanced at Emily contemptuously and left arrogantly.

Emily was trembling with anger. Mrs. Brent was trying to belittle her. And Franklin was even more hateful. If it weren't for him, how could she have such an identity and how could she be so humiliated that she couldn't say a word to refute.

In the past, even if she didn't rush up and fight with Mrs. Brent, she would have quarreled with Mrs. Brent.

"Don't take her words to heart. Don't care about her in the future." Franklin saw Emily's angry look and thought she was angry with his mother, so he stepped forward and comforted her.

Who knew that as soon as his hands touched Emily's shoulder, Emily shook them off with a cold snort.

"You don't have to pretend to be a good person. I thought it was Miss Lewis, but I didn't expect it to be your mother. But your mother was right. You always keep me by your side like this. Is Miss Lewis really willing to allow you to be like this? Or is it because of your extraordinary ability so that you can keep a wife at home while having mistresses outside?" Emily said angrily.

Franklin frowned and quickly understood. He chuckled and said, "Did you cry in the garden before because you thought I didn't let you in because Avery came? That's why you were sad and couldn't help crying."

"Who's crying? I'm telling you that it was because the sand got in my eyes. Are you deaf or you just can't understand?" Emily said angrily.
