Hello, Mr. Brent novel Chapter 254

Although Mrs. Brent's age is not a round number, her birthday ceremony was grand. She unusually insisted on holding a glamorous party this year.

She was the honorable lady of the Brent Family, so it was not too much to ask for it. Franklin didn't intervene either. It was just a matter of money, so he left it to his mother to do whatever she wanted.

Mrs. Brent booked the entire hotel and arranged various entertaining activities. All the Brent Family members who were available attended, and those who lived far away specially settled things down to take part in this ceremony. So Franklin, Mrs. Brent's son, was naturally the center of the party, and he had to come early.

Mrs. Brent, wearing shining jewels, greeted the guests with a bright red face.

Franklin came over with a gift, and Mrs. Brent went to him with a smile. Mrs. Brent's face immediately changed when she saw Emily beside Franklin.

"Why did you bring her here?" Mrs. Brent asked in a low, sullen voice.

Her face twitched. It seemed she could still feel the scratch on it.

"Emily is very sorry for what she did before, so she came to apologize to you." Franklin pulled Emily over and asked her to give his mother her present.

Sure enough, Emily smiled gently and said to Mrs. Brent with politeness, "Mrs. Brent, I'm really sorry before. I was too impulsive and ignorant. You are broad-minded, so please forgive me. I hope this gift could express my apology. Please accept it."

Mrs. Brent glanced at it and saw a string of English letters printed on the box. She knew this brand of jewelry, which was quite expensive.

Originally, she didn't like Emily very much, but she had to endure it for the sake of this set of jewelry. She couldn't squeeze out a smile, and only replied with an "OK".

Franklin smiled and asked Emily to look around, then he accompanied Mrs. Brent to greet other guests.

But Mrs. Brent was the birthday lady, so there was no reason for her to keep receiving guests. Naturally, she sat at the head of the table and accepted people's birthday wishes.

"Go, call Avery and invite her to the birthday party." Mrs. Brent smiled brightly and took the time to whisper to the butler.

The butler glanced at Emily, nodded knowingly and quickly made a phone call.

Mrs. Brent didn't like Emily or Avery. So she'd never thought about inviting Emily, let alone invite Avery.

There were a lot of reporters today, and Mrs. Brent had only planned to let Franklin attend the birthday party as her son. As for the daughter-in-law, she'd never thought about it. If those reporters saw that Avery didn't come over, they would rack their brains to write something ridiculous after they went back. Perhaps the most likely theme was a woman's hard life with the evil mother-in-law-to-be in a wealthy family.

But Mrs. Brent didn't expect that Emily would come and disrupted her plan.

Between Emily and Avery, Mrs. Brent disliked the former much more. Mrs. Brent could not help but grit her teeth when she recalled that Emily had hurt her. After Avery came, she wanted to see how the two bitches fought.

"Miss Johnson? How could you be here?"

Emily was wandering around the buffet table with a small plate, thinking that Mrs. Brent really liked this ostentatious ceremony. According to Lisa, Mrs. Brent's annual birthday banquet was held in the Old Residence, and it was also splendid and the theme was different. This year, Mrs. Brent insisted on breaking the old tradition and holding it in a hotel. Besides, all the guests were acquaintances, so it was really unnecessary to choose buffet.

Franklin didn't care about these things, but Lisa had to help arrange them. When she was tired and had a sore back, she complained to Emily, and then mysteriously guessed that Mrs. Brent was accumulating money.
