Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 262

The woman was Yana Walker, Alan's childhood friend.

The Walkers and the Alvarezes had been close for generations.

She had insisted on working at the company solely because of her infatuation with Alan. She had pressured her father to arrange a position for her. In reality, she barely did any actual work. Her primary duty was monitoring any woman who dared to get close to Alan.

Though many female employees secretly admired Alan, they never dared to act on their feelings. No one wanted to cross Yana, who was already considered the future Mrs. Alvarez.

At that moment, Yana stood with her arms crossed, glaring at Suzanne with open disdain. "Suzanne Yates, right? What are you doing here?"

She had heard everything Suzanne told the receptionist.

Yana's arrogant attitude made Suzanne frown. Pausing for a moment, she replied bluntly, "I don't see how that concerns you."

Yana's expression darkened slightly. She let out a mocking laugh. "You came to see my future husband, and you think it doesn't concern me? Do you even think before you speak?"

Whispers spread through the office.

"Look at that. Yana couldn't sit still. Finally, someone to put that woman in her place."

"Exactly. Usually, Yana's arrogance is annoying, but today, she's actually kind of satisfying to watch."

"Agreed. Some people deserve to be put in their place."

The hushed chuckles of employees filled the air.

Little did they know, Suzanne and Roselynn had heard every word.

Roselynn shot up from her seat with her hands on her hips, glaring at the gossiping employees. "If you have something to say, say it louder! Ms—"

She halted mid-sentence, remembering Suzanne's instructions not to reveal her identity.

Adjusting her words, she continued, "Ms. Yates is a civilized person who won't stoop to your level. But me? I'm different. Want to see who wins in a shouting match?"
