"What?" Bianca blinked, her heart racing in her chest.
Of all things, she didn't expect Adan to ask her such a question.
"Didn't you say I wasn't your type?" She questioned, furrowing her eyebrows despite the millions of butterflies that were fluttering in her stomach.
Adan chuckled. He cupped Bianca’s face and replied, "I lied. Why wouldn't you be my type? You're gorgeous. You're the most beautiful blonde, green-eyed goddess I've ever seen."
Bianca’s face flushed pink. She bit her lower lip and said, "I now know why you're a playboy. Your game is smooth... if I didn't know you, I would have fallen for your charms."
Hurt flickered through Adan's eyes. He sighed and replied, "I'm not a playboy. That's just what I made everyone believe."
"What?" Bianca laughed. "Come on, Adan. I'm back and ok now. You don't need to come up with lies because you feel guilty for what happened. I already know why you never wanted to get married."
"Bee... I don't know how to say this," Adan responded. "Yes, I was once in love and got hurt terribly in the end. I didn't want anything to do with relationships, so I put up a playboy façade. I've never really been with all those women the media captured me with. They are paid actresses."
"I know it's hard to believe but I haven't been with a woman in years," Adan added.
Bianca saw how sincere Adan was through his eyes.
Her heart did a flip before it began to beat violently against her ribcage.
For some reason, when she looked into Adan's eyes, she believed him. However, she didn't want to take the risk.
What if his ex showed up and then he discovered he was still in love with her? Wouldn't that be the only reason why he couldn't move on and find another woman?
Adan sighed, knowing it was hard for Bianca to trust him.
He held her hands in his and said, "Don't give me an answer yet. Let's get to know each other better. I'm very sure about my feelings. I've hidden them for so long and I don't want to hide them anymore. I haven't even faked a relationship with anyone ever since I started having feelings for you. Haven't you noticed there haven't been any articles about me being seen with a woman at some hotel? Shouldn't that tell you something?"
Bianca bit her lower lip.
'That's right. Adan hasn't been in any scandals lately,' she mused.
"Let's get to know each other," Bianca suggested.
Even though she secretly felt something for Adan, she still didn't want to rush into opening up her heart completely to him.
It would take some time for her to trust him fully.
Adan smiled and without warning, he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Bianca’s forehead, saying, "That's my girl. I promise I'll make you fall for me."
Bianca blushed again. She felt like she had a hummingbird in her chest.
And just like that, Adan stayed by Bianca’s side throughout her stay in the hospital.
He would carry her to the bathroom, help her take walks in the garden, and read her books.
