Months later…
“Is it ok if we leave the children with you?" Ryan asked his family.
It was the weekend and Ryan and Lora had decided to take the children to the Kingsley mansion so that they could spend time together.
Charles Kingsley was already holding little Lucas while Miles was holding Riley. The twins had grown so fast and could now toddle around all over the place.
“I don’t mind staying with them if they are this cute,” Charles remarked while making funny faces at little Lucas.
Ella and Ethan were already following Diane around, asking her to take them shopping. They seemed not to care that their parents were going to leave them there.
Ryan and Lora shared a look before laughing. Lora said, “It seems we are not needed.”
“That’s because they know they are in safe hands,” Ryan replied.
He called out to Diane, “Sis, you can use my card-”
“Come on, I have my own money to spoil my niece and nephew,” Diane replied. “Besides, the only friend I have went abroad and is yet to be back, so, the twins will keep me company for now.”
“Uncle Aiden encountered some problems with his company abroad. It will take some time for him to return but he surely will… his whole family is here after all,” Lora explained, knowing the two had gotten closer the previous year.
Diane nodded. “Well, he will find us.” She looked at the twins and asked, “Who wants ice cream?”
“Me!” Ella replied and added. “Ethan wants as well but he’s trying to be cool. Boys will always be boys.”
The adults laughed at Ella’s words.
Lora glanced at Miles and Charles and asked, “Is it really ok? I would have left them with Mom but she and Dad have gone for a vacation.”
Miles smiled and replied, “Don’t worry. We’ve both taken care of babies before. You go and have fun.”
Even though Miles was now single, he was happier than he was when he was with Celeste. Isabella was now at university and Jason had gone abroad to work on his company but he did visit home during important holidays.
What Miles was more grateful for was the opportunity to fix his relationship with his four children. Without Celeste in their lives to bring them apart, they had forged an unbreakable bond.
“Ok, Dad. Remember to call in case of anything,” Ryan said before holding Lora’s hand and leading her out of the mansion.
After they got into the car, Lora looked at her husband and asked, “So, where is Mr Kingsley taking me?”
Ryan smirked. He replied, “I’m taking you for a drive and then we will have a date night. Just you and me.”
Despite having more children, the couple didn’t stop going on dates and trips. They made sure they spent time together regardless of how busy they were with their respective companies.
Lora smiled just as her phone rang. She glanced at it and saw that her bestie, Bianca was giving her a video call.
