Bianca stood face to face with the woman who had run away earlier.

She gulped, feeling a lump in her throat as she studied Serena Pierce’s facial features.

Bianca had to admit she was beautiful. She had dark brown hair with captivating brown eyes and her body was to die for.

“How can I help you?” Bianca asked, sounding a little stiff. She had no idea why the woman who had run away earlier was suddenly in her ward, so she had her guard up.

“Are you worried that I’ll steal Adan away from you?” Serena answered with a question. "I heard you're having an arranged marriage."

Bianca frowned, irritation flaring through her. She glanced at Serena and replied, “Look, if this is a confrontation about me staying away from Adan then please, save yourself the embarrassment and leave my ward. I don’t want to fight with you. After all, your parents saved my life.”

“Do you love Adan?” Serena suddenly asked. "Or are you marrying him because you were forced to?"

Silence fell over the place.

Bianca knew she shouldn’t entertain Serena, knowing the latter could have approached her with ulterior motives.

However, a part of her wanted to mark her territory. Adan had already confessed to her, so why should she be afraid of women from his past?

She held her chin high and replied, “Yes, I do. I love him. Do you have a problem with that?”

Serena’s face was devoid of any emotions. She sighed and said, “That’s good then. Please don’t hurt him like I did or you will live to regret it for the rest of your life.”

Bianca’s eyebrows met. What was Serena playing at?

“Wait… this wasn’t a confrontation?” She asked, feeling confused.

Serena shook her head. She said, “I actually got divorced recently and I have three kids. In my low moment, I remembered the man I left at the altar because of my childhood crush. For a moment, I was delusional. I thought Adan still loved me since he had never settled down after so many years. So, I called him to see if I could have a chance with him. But, he had already forgotten about me.”

“I never knew you were his fiancee when you were home. And I ran away today because I felt ashamed of myself when I saw Adan. When I left him, I thought I would have a good life but I just ended up being miserable in the end. Adan didn’t deserve what I did… he loved me even though I come from a poor background but I was too blind to see it. I came to see you so that you wouldn’t make the same mistake I made… Adan is a good man, don't hurt him.”

Bianca’s jaw was on the floor.
