Chapter 337
The person dug up the grave, took half of the ashes, and restored the grave to its original state before leaving.
An hour later, the ashes appeared at Iverton International Airport and then boarded a flight to North Amyrllis.
Lea stared at the screen for a while before rapidly typing on the keyboard. Soon, she accessed the boarding check–in system at the airport and found the person carrying the ashes. Initially, it was detected in an infrared scan.
It was a woman, about five foot eight tall, and on the back of her neck, there was a distinct rose tattoo.
It was someone from the Rizzo family.
Just as Lea had suspected, the Rizzo family was targeting Joey, and they had been keeping a tab on him in Iverton all along. It was very likely that they had shown up in the hospital as well.
Lea had been keeping an eye out but hadn’t noticed them.
At this thought, a chill ran down her spine, and beads of cold sweat formed on her forehead.
Soon, the moving red dot on the screen disappeared, and she snapped back to reality.
She had placed a type of bacteria from the lab in Joey’s ashes, which could survive for a few days for biological tracking.
Now, the bacteria had died out and turned into substances similar to ashes, making them undetectable.
The people targeting Joey were also targeting her.
Although they were going back to North Amyrllis, they would eventually discover other things and Lea’s presence.
With such powerful and terrifying enemies, Lea couldn’t just sit idly by.
Even though she knew that she would be exposed if she continued to investigate, she raised her hands and started typing on the keyboard.
After a while, the photo of the woman who took the ashes was pulled up.
She was dressed in a long black coat, wearing a vintage hat that covered most of her face. From the visible profile, her facial features indicated she was a foreigner.
If Lea could see her entire face, she would find that the woman was a mixed–race individual with Nowish ancestry. Her face was slender, and her nose was long and straight.
But from her dignified and elegant demeanor, it was clear she was someone professionally trained and well–groomed.
In the Rizzo family, she was likely a figure similar to a butler.
“Creak!” Hearing the sound of the door being pushed open, Lea quickly closed two windows with her mouse.
The room was dimly lit by only her computer screen. Alfred immediately saw the rose tattoo, causing his pupils to contract sharply.
“You’re back.” had already stood up and turned around, leaning against the edge of the desk. After a brief moment of panic, she quickly collected herself.
Alfred gave Lea a once–over. She was wearing a black dress. Her slightly curled long hair was styled simply, exuding an air of elegance and sophistication mingled with dominance and mystery.

Chapter 837
The corners of Afred’s mouth curled up into a wry smile. ‘She’s still hiding it from me.
He strode forward and entered the room.
Are you investigating the Rizzo family?” the man asked.
Lea’s eyes widened in shock, and her breathing slowed. ‘He knows? He actually knows about it!
A surge of fear arose in her heart. She was worried that he might get involved and that the unknown, terrifying danger could harm him.
Alfred had walked up to her, illuminated only by the light of the computer screen. In the darkness, his eyes were particularly bright and calm, showing concern and tenderness.
Is it related to Joey?” Alfred seemed to have seen through everything and asked, “Does he have any connection to you? Does it have something to do with your identity?”
Lea’s shock quickly settled into calm.
It seemed Alfred knew everything she did. Given his intelligence, she figured it was hard to hide things from him. She didn’t want to keep anything from him anymore since he had asked.
“How did you know?” Lea was curious about how he figured it out.
Alfred pulled out a chair, sat down, and drew her onto his lap. With a gentle tug, he made her wrap her arms around his neck, so they faced each other.
“My woman is so capable. If you want to save someone, there’s no one you can’t save. If you really can’t save them, you won’t try from the beginning. Yet Joey died unexpectedly. His funeral was grand and everything looked reasonable without a flaw,” stated Alfred.
The unwavering trust in his eyes warmed Lea’s heart.
Christian was her closest kin, but there was an insurmountable barrier between them. No one could trust her so much as Alfred did.
Having such a person in her life was enough for her.
“But why do you think he has a connection to me?” asked Lea.
Alfred replied, “You’re so good to Joey and his family
He noticed her deep loyalty, shown to people like Shannon and Lorrand, was different from Joey and his family.
All he could think of was that Joey was related to her. Her love had been completely occupied by him, so there was only kinship left.
Alfred remarked, “Your relationship with Christian is also very subtle. The old man also values his family and friends very much. If you carry truly the Berry family’s blood, your relationship with him should be closer.”
Alfred pressed his lips together, intending to mention that bloodline is a mystical bond that could break through all barriers. But he didn’t say it, worrying that she would think of her child from her previous life.
Yet, Lea understood. She felt a special bond with Joey when she met him.
Lea asked, “What about the Rizzo family? How much do you know?” Alfred had brought up the family as soon as he saw what was on her computer, indicating his good understanding of them.
