Hey, My Twins Babies novel Chapter 893

Winnie didn't say anything but smiled faintly.

"It's time for me to go to the hospital."

Winnie took the lunch box from Raya's hand and turned to Brian.

"You go and have dinner, I'll be fine on my own."

Winnie avoided that topic just now. She did not believe what Brian said and she did not expect to be Rufus’ daughter-in-law. If she couldn't find her beloved again in this life, it would be good to be his daughter the rest of her life.

"I'm done eating and coming with you."

Brian took the lunchbox in Winnie's hand, and then walked out together with Winnie.

He knew Winnie was avoiding it, knew she still couldn't accept it right now. It didn't matter, he could wait until she nodded her head.

On the way to the hospital, Winnie had been in a good mood. It seemed that the conversation she had just had with Raya had not affected her mood.

Seeing Winnie in a good mood, Brian was naturally relieved. So, he couldn't help but ask.

"You've been pretty happy since you got home today until now, did something good happen to you?"

"Yes, Do I show it that obviously?"

Winnie asked Brian, she was indeed in a good mood, but she didn't realize that her good mood had been given away.

"Yeah, it's obvious. You are smiling all the time."

"Miss Chambers, can you tell me why you are happy?"

Brian asked jokingly, not wanting to spoil Winnie's good mood.

"Oh ...... helped Finn solve a case today and used my expertise to catch the suspect, so I'm feeling pretty happy."

Winnie didn't tell the truth, not because she wanted to deliberately hide it, but because she felt that her family's affairs had never been cared for by Brian, and she was afraid that it would be a joke to him.

"Catching a bad guy makes you so happy, so would you be happier if you develop the software?"

Brian just felt Winnie was happy because she helped solve a case. Although he didn't think much about it, the name Finn still made him uncomfortable.

"No, I don't feel particularly happy with all the software I've developed. The two jobs are not the same. The police industry is very similar to the law department I took in college so I feel a sense of accomplishment. Software is just a necessary for my survival, a tool for me to earn money."

Winnie managed to avoid the real reason for her happiness.

After thinking twice, she still felt it was better not to say anything. Small talk was fine, but it was better not to bother Brian with her family's affairs.

"Like the law that much?"

The statement Winnie gave was a bit surprising to Brian, if she truly liked this industry, would she change her career one day?

"Yes, secretly I took law classes without my parents' knowledge."

"My favorite thing was the profession of lawyering, eloquent and righteous, a noble profession that exists to protect the various interests of citizens."

"But when I was admitted by a college, my mom changed my major and I was forced to do software engineering."

It surprisingly reminded Winnie of what happened years ago.

Maybe it was because she was in a good mood today.

"I didn't give up on lawyers when I went to college, so I snuck in a law elective and also took the bar exam. When I graduated, I also took the law to study abroad."

"I still have a teaching certificate. When the school organized students to go to remote mountainous areas to teach students there, I wanted to join. Then I worked hard to get my teaching certificate, but I didn't have a chance to use it, because I was going to study abroad."

Winnie was pleased with the results she had obtained, and she really didn't know what she had used to get various licenses.

Brian had been listening quietly, this was the first time Winnie had talked about her past. Originally, he didn't want to interrupt her so that she could talk a bit more. But there was one thing that Brian was curious about.

"You loved law so much and fought for the opportunity to go abroad. Once you left the country, your parents couldn't control what you studied, so why did you stick with software engineering?"

Brian's remark did make Winnie collect her good mood, but she didn't refuse to answer.

"I gave it up for Penny. At the time I was first in the law department and she was the second. Only if I waived could she go out to study abroad with the school's grant."

"I wasn't doing too well on my software engineering exams, but I did have the opportunity to go abroad, only it was self-funded."

"My family was rich at that time and my parents were supportive of me continuing my studies in software engineering, so I gave up on law."

She gave up her favorite career for her best friend, but she never thought it would end up like this.

When Winnie said that, Brian remembered that Penny was influencing Winnie's life.

"The place I most wanted to intern at that time was XX Law Firm, which, by the way, I just found out is owned by the Finn’s family."

At the mention of this matter, Winnie's emotions rose high again.

"Their family's law firm was the most desired place for all the law students, but I think I was the most advantaged. At that time, I could have gone straight to the law firm for an internship without going abroad, but I ended up going abroad because of Penny."

"She had low self-esteem because of her family and didn't want to engage with people. Plus Daenerys also paid her own to study abroad and we three went to the same university, so I chose software engineering but give up law."
