Nyla, stop playing around and bring the child back immediately.” Slevin lowered his voice.
“What do you mean playing around?” Nyla realized that the sound of the crying child was audible, so she kicked him hard. “I’m not telling you!” After saying this, she hung up the phone.
Elspeth had been listening to the noise on the other end and upon hearing the muffled sound, she instinctively associated it with the sound of someone being kicked. Having been in fights before, she recognized the sound. The thought of Damian enduring such abuse made her blood boil. “Slevin, if anything happens to my son because of your sister, I will never let her or you off the hook!”
It was then that Slevin realized the gravity of the situation. “Don’t worry, I will bring the child back to you.” Although Slevin had considered threatening Elspeth, he had never contemplated harming Damian. At this thought, he immediately made a phone call. “Find out Nyla’s current location.”
A few minutes later, Slevin received a notification on his phone, and he frowned as he read the message. “She’s currently at… Gaya Beach.”
Meanwhile at Gaya Beach, Damian, who was covered in injuries was seen laying on the ground. Some of his wounds had been showing signs of healing, but being treated roughly had caused them to secrete pus. Fresh wounds in inconspicuous places were oozing blood.
Nyla clicked her tongue as she looked at Damian who lay motionless on the ground. “You little brat, why can’t you take a beating?” Damian barely opened his eyes at the sound of her voice, but even the slightest movement of his mouth caused pain.
He already had cuts and bruises. On top of that, being forcefully dragged here without any mercy and being beaten by Nyla had left him weak and powerless. “You…”
He tried to say something, but perhaps it was his sad gaze that agitated Nyla that made her approach him and squat down in front of him before lifting his chin with her hand. “What’s wrong? Little brat? Do you still want to say something?”
“You’re crazy.” Although Damian was in great pain, he didn’t shed tears. Instead, he stared coldly at the woman in front of him who was acting tyrannical.
Nyla burst into maniacal laughter. “I’m crazy? What makes you say that?” After saying this, she stood up, raised her foot, and viciously kicked him. The sharp heel of her high-heeled shoe cut through his skin which made Damian cry out in pain. Tears started streaming down his face, and the sand was stained with tear tracks.
“This is the consequence of opposing me, little boy.” Nyla bent down and smiled contemptuously. “You probably don’t recognize me, right? You can’t even recognize me despite living with Slevin for so long.”
She didn’t expect to encounter such an interesting little fellow in the basement. According to the butler, he was the son of that vixen so she wouldn’t let him off easily. As the flashbacks came to an end, Nyla looked at Damian, who was covered in injuries, and for some reason, she felt a sick sense of satisfaction.
Seeing this poor child, she could think of her past self—lowly, despicable, and at the mercy of others. Why should she be the only one to endure this torment? She wanted others to taste the same bitterness. It was really amusing.
Nyla felt a sense of joy and satisfaction, and no fear at all. What kind of storm could that tramp stir up when she was still dependent on Slevin? Slevin… How could he possibly harm his own sister?
With confidence, Nyla noticed that Damian seemed to be glaring at her, and her temper flared. She picked up a round stone from the ground and ruthlessly threw it at his face. “What are you glaring at?”
The stone hit his eyebrow, and Damian let out a painful cry. “Ahh!” The area where the stone hit immediately swelled up, causing it to bruise.
“Does it hurt? Stop pretending! When I was beaten and tormented by a group of people on the street, it was a thousand times worse than what you’re feeling now!”
