S2 82. Not a Perfect Man
Barbara nodded without suspicion. “Of course. Let’s watch the rest.”
She didn’t realize that Frank and Kara were secretly smiling. After Louis played the video, she placed the tablet on the edge of the table so they could watch it together.
“Oh, Louis? You were actually peeking at us from the bushes?” Barbara sighed as she saw Louis appear with leaves on his head in the animation. That was the moment after Melanie criticized Philip.
“Yeah, I was playing spy at the time.” Louis shrugged his shoulders with an innocent look.
Shaking her head in disbelief, Barbara kept watching. She liked to review their fun at the beach. She was sad when she saw the image of her mother blaming everyone for her decision to follow Paul. And, she was touched to know how upset everyone was when she was
gone.
After various emotions passed through her chest, Barbara finally fell into confusion. “Wait. When was the last time you edited this animation?” She paused the video.
Louis and Emily did their best to hold back their smiles. “Yesterday.”
“Then why is there a moment when we watch animation in the back yard?”
“Because we expected it.”
“Yes, we arranged it. Instead of wondering, how about you keep watching?”
With her eyebrows carved in astonishment, Barbara played the animation again. A moment later, she squinted her eyes, sighing, ”

Isn’t that Philip?”
“Yes,” Louis answered firmly.
“Why is he peering through the door? And why is he dressed like that? ” she asked amused.
However, when Philip stood in front of her, strange turmoil erupted. Even though it’s just an animation, the ring depicted in the box in his
hand looked valuable.
“Philip is planning to propose to me?” Barbara muttered
spontaneously. When “will you marry me?” appeared on the screen, a quick sigh was no longer inevitable.
“Barbara.”
The girl turned to the voice. At the entrance to the dining room, Philip was standing in the exact same tuxedo as in the animation. In his hand, the bouquet of roses seemed to be starting to turn black.
“Gosh, you’re so cute,” she sighed between laughter full of emotion.
“You think so?” Philip raised an eyebrow and locked his smile. He liked the bright sparks in Barbara’s eyes.
“Yeah, it seems like you just came out of the screen.” Barbara point
at the tablet with her chin.
Philip’s lips turned flat. “That was the concept last night.”
As he got closer to Barbara, Emily and Louis moved to Frank and
Kara’s side.
“Sorry, the roses are starting to wilt,” Philip said as he handed over the bouquet with one knee placed on the floor.
Barbara bit her lip, holding back her excitement. “It’s okay. That’s the proof that they’re real.”

“Just like my love for you. It’s genuine. It’s real. But I will make sure that our love blossoms as long as we still breathe, and it will not wither even if death separates us.”
Philip rubbed her face after she kissed the flowers. Then, his hand. moved tracing her neck, her shoulder, her arm… until he found her slender fingers.
“Barbara Harris,” Philip took a deep breath and then took out a box.
“I’m so grateful that you came into my life. Every second I spend with you feels eternal. I don’t want it to end. I don’t want time to quickly pass by. Therefore,” Philip opened the box, “will you fill my every day?”
Barbara let out a faint breath. Her heart had never felt so complete.
“Are you sure you want to accept all my weaknesses? I’m not the girl of your dreams. I don’t have any abilities, you know?”
Philip smiled faintly. Even though many eyes were on him, his focus was only on Barbara.
“I’m not a perfect person either. There are many things I can’t do, but will try.”
While Barbara was stunned, Philip raised the corners of his lips. “In the past, I thought someone with weaknesses we could accept was much better than someone with strengths we admired. I never thought I would meet someone who could fulfill both.”
After one long breath, Philip stroked her ring finger. “So, Miss Barbara Harris, will you accept this mediocre man as your husband?”
“You are not a mediocre man, Philip. You are more than what I need.”
Emily could no longer contain her excitement. She clapped her hands. while jumping up and down. “Does it mean yes, Auntie?”
Barbara smiled and nodded. “Yes. I want to spend the rest of my life.

with Philip.”
In an instant, the audience cheered, Jeremy and Susan finally come out of hiding.
“That’s very good, Philip. Very brave, Jeremy praised, but seemed teasing.
While laughing, Philip took the ring out of the box. The gem was not big, just like a speck of star, but its shine hypnotized Barbara.
“This is the most beautiful jewelry I’ve ever gotten. Thank you, Phil,” she whispered as soon as he finished putting the ring on her finger.
Philip stood up and put his arm around Barbara’s waist. “And this is the most beautiful jewelry I’ve ever gotten.” He kissed her forehead.
The twins’ voices shook the air even more.
“Woohoo! Barbara accepted Philip’s proposal. They will get married soon!”
“Philip and Barbara will live happily ever after, just like Mommy and Daddy.”
A second later, the two toddlers ran to hug the couple.
“Congratulations, Uncle, Auntie. We are happy that you will live together.”
