Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 389

S31 132. Mission Failed

Seeing Jeremy and Ava confused about finding a way out, Vivian. finally stopped her amusement. Clearing her throat, she waved her

hand.

“Okay, you

you don’t need to answer that. Come on, sit down. Let’s have breakfast. Ava, don’t be shy. You have to eat a lot so that your womb will be healthy.”

Ava couldn’t open her eyes any wider. She gasped, not knowing what to reply.

Meanwhile, Jeremy sat with his back very straight. His expression was stiff. His hand had to struggle extra to reach Vivian’s fingers.

“Mom, please don’t tease Ava anymore. Poor her. She’s already like a tomato. She’ll explode if you keep talking like that.”

Vivian smiled faintly. “Okay. I won’t mention that matter again, bu Ava really has to eat a lot.”

A second later, she clenched and unclenched her hand. “Come on! Bring your future wife’s plate. Let me handle the portions.”

Ava gasped. All her ten fingers straightened up, but Jeremy had handed the plate to Vivian.

“Come on, Vivian. Give her a lot of food.” Melanie patted Vivian’s arm.

“Yes, I know.” Vivian spooned the salad onto Ava’s plate until it piled up. Ava panicked seeing it.

“Ma’am, I think that’s too much.”

Vivian gasped. Her round eyes were fixed on Ava. “What did you call me? You remember that I told you to call me Mom right?”

Ava blinked. She forgot about the agreement. Meanwhile, Jeremy lifted the corners of his lips slightly. “Mom?”

“Yes, she will soon be your wife. Of course she has to call me Mom. Besides, I don’t have a daughter. I would be very happy if a girl called me Mom. I would love her with all my heart.”

Eva sighed in disbelief. Her eyes glanced at Ava cynically. That girl still wore an innocent look.

“She must be very happy to receive that kind of treatment. But she still pretends to be humble? Tch! Hypocritical,” Eva cursed in her heart.

Seeing Vivian scoop up more salad, Ava’s jaw dropped wider. Her

hands waved faster.

“Wait, Mom. Don’t add it any more. It would be a shame to throw the leftover away.”

Vivian put down the spoon with a faint smile. “Try again. How did you

call me?”

Ava blinked awkwardly. “Mom.”

“That’s very sweet. Call me often, hmm? I can stay young forever if you do it.”

Meanwhile, Melanie secretly took two pieces of steak. When the tunal slices landed on her plate, Ava’s eyes widened.

“Mrs. Melanie? Thank you for paying attention to my diet, but one is enough.”

However, Melanie pushed Vivian’s arm, indicating that she should quickly hand over the plate.

“You’ve worked hard all this time. You need additional nutrition.”

Ava’s eyes filled with tears seeing the concern. As Jeremy added the

peas to her plate, she let out an emotional sigh. “Jeremy?”

“They’re right, Ava. You do need to eat a lot.” He placed the plate in front of Ava without making a sound. “Please, Princess.”

Vivian frowned at the call. “What did you say? Princess? Do you think she’s Emily? Ava is more suitable to be your queen. Change your

nickname.”

Jeremy snorted slightly. “That’s not a nickname, Mom. It’s just spontaneity.”

“You don’t need to be embarrassed, Jeremy. Frank even dared to call his wife Queen Bee in front of many people. That’s commonplace,” Melanie said while taking salad for herself.

Jeremy shook his head slightly. But then, he muttered, “I think you’re right. Maybe I can find a suitable nickname for Ava.”

“Don’t try it, Jeremy. I don’t like excessive things like that.” Ava pushed Jeremy’s legs under the table.

“That’s not an exaggeration, Sweetheart. Find a nickname you like. can strengthen your relationship.” Vivian handed Jeremy his plate then filled her own plate.

Jeremy’s eyes narrowed, starting to think. He ignored Ava’s shake of the head. “I think I found one.”

“What?” Vivian and Melanie asked.

Jeremy’s gaze lingered on Ava. “How about My Lady? Do you like it?”

Ava’s eyebrows rose. “Are you kidding me? I’m not a noble and you’re

not a commoner.”

“But you occupy the highest throne in my heart. That’s a fitting call.”

Eva felt nauseous. She couldn’t believe that Mr. Eilthy Rich would humble himself for a girl like Ava.

“I think that’s a bit excessive, Mr. Harper, because in reality… your status is much higher than our family’s. Moreover, Ava is just an ordinary nurse who has nothing.”

Everyone focused their gazes on Eva. They didn’t understand why she looked down on her own sister. However, before the argument broke out, Vivian glanced at the clock.

“Oh, look! We are already a few minutes past breakfast time. Let’s eat!

Melanie nodded, straightening her fork. Ava did the same thing,

although her expression was a bit dim.

“Wait a minute,” Jeremy interrupted, reviving both silence and tension.

“What’s wrong, Son?”

“We haven’t prayed yet.”

Vivian let out a laugh. “Oh my gosh! I forgot. Jeremy, come on and lead the prayer.”

While the others lowered their heads, Eva sighed in disbelief. Did she just talk? Why didn’t anyone chime in?

When everyone finished praying, Eva handed Ava her plate. “Sister, could you please get me a salad? The plate is a bit far from me.”

Ava removed her knife and fork again. With a flat expression, she took her plate. “As usual?”

Eva nodded. “You know I always watch my diet,” she replied in a proud tone.

However, before Ava had time to reach for the salad spoon, the large plate moved closer to Eva.

“Are you used to being spoiled? This plate isn’t far at all. Even I can

reach it.” Melanie brought the salad closer to Eva. “Here. Take it yourself. Don’t trouble Ava.”

The sisters exchanged glances. Ava could see the anger in Eva’s

eyes. Not wanting to fight at the dinner table, she grabbed the salad

spoon.

“It’s okay, Mrs. Melanie. Picking up this salad is easy. It’s not tiring at all. It only takes a few seconds.”

While Ava started filling Eva’s plate, Vivian let out a heavy sigh.” Precisely because it’s easy, she should be able to do it herself. There’s no need to tell anyone else. You’ll soon be marrying my son, Ava. Don’t pamper your sister too much. Let her practice being independent. She can’t always depend on you.”

Π

Eva’s eyebrows furrowed at that. “Sorry, Madam? You seem to have misunderstood. So far, I have always taken care of myself and our mother. I am used to being independent. Precisely because Ava will be getting married soon, this is my opportunity to be pampered to her

At that time, Ava finished taking the salad and placed the plate in front of Eva. “That’s it. There’s no need to whine anymore,” she whispered faintly.

Feeling that her sister was acting wise, Eva rolled her eyes. If there were no other people around, she would have argued.
