His Eagle Eyes on Me novel Chapter 1978

Layla's furious face appeared before the two of them. Her chest was heaving as she stared daggers at Natalie. "Your dad is dead! You keep saying that my dad is dead, so I'm saying the same thing to you, you witch! You are just like that old witch Wanda! Both of you are rotten to the core!"

Layla decided to tell her father about how horrible a person Natalie was if he ever came home. He would then fire her and get her as far away from them as possible.

Natalie had not imagined that Layla could be this vicious

"Ms. Jennings, you seem pretty certain that my boss is dead. Do you know something that we don’t?" The bodyguard did not give her a chance to argue and

pressed on, "Or are you involved in his death?!" "Bullsh*t! I just want my cousin to keep her distance from you people and I said that to convince her! How would I know if Elliot is dead?! You are unreasonable and vicious beyond bounds! If I have the ability to murder someone like Elliot, I might as well stop working for someone else and open an assassination organization instead. I can work for the highest payer. Wouldn’t I earn more that way?" She directed one final glare at the bodyguard and left in a huff.

Once she was gone, Leah looked over at the bodyguard and Layla awkwardly. "I'm sorry! I didn't know my cousin was coming. She didn’t tell me."

"You were right. If your cousin is that certain that my boss is dead, she must know something."

"My dad isn't dead! Mommy said so!" Layla howled.

"Don't get angry, Layla. I think what your mom said is true. My cousin probably knows something though," said Leah immediately when she saw the tears in Layla's eyes.

Layla walked out with her backpack. "Ms. Kennedy, I'm not doing my homework here today! I'm going home!" With that, she stormed off and the bodyguard caught up with her.

Once she got into the car, Layla reached up to wipe away the tears on her face.

"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong," Layla said, as tears filled her eyes once again. "It's been so long since Dad went missing, so I know that he could be dead. Mommy doesn’t want to face it, neither do I. If Daddy is alive, he would come back. Even if he can't travel at the moment, he would have found a way to contact us."
