Between the time of which Amara’s brain could recover from Tobias’s sudden visit and comprehend what he had said, the male had taken a step forward, shortening the distance between them and demanded.
“We need to talk.”
“Talk?” Amara intensified her glare, hating his nerves even more when she recalled the picture Melanie had sent to her.
He sure had some balls, being all chummy with Celestine and then coming to demand they have a talk.
“We have nothing to talk about,” Amara firmly stated and stepped back, intending to shut the door in her ex husband’s face.
But her plans were foiled when he placed his leg in the doorway, effectively stopping her.
He grimaced, obviously regretting the consequences of his rash decision. But despite the pain, he carried on. “No, there are things I need to talk about.”
Amara was getting impatient, not only was the male being a pest, but his presence was also a nuisance.
And that fact was only taken to a whole new level when he literally forced his way into her house.
“The hell is wrong with you?” Amara questioned, having to take a few steps back when Tobias walked in.
He turned around, facing her with his usual stoic expression, but the irritation was evident in his tone. “We need to talk.”
“I already said no,” She was about to add an ‘and I also don’t want you here’ but the male started speaking.
“It’s about Celestine,”
“Your little mistress? Shouldn’t you be in the hospital with her, rather than barging your way into my house?” She spat.
Tobias could only bring himself to sigh at this, because from what he was seeing, it was clear that what Austin had told him was true.
Amara despised him and as a way to get back at him, she was going to attack Celestine.
“It doesn’t have to be this way, Amara,” Tobias found himself taking a gentle tone with her. Perhaps it was because he didn’t want the situation to escalate more than it already had. “Let’s bring all this to end. Let’s call a truce to this madness.”
“A truce?” Amara said with faux surprise. “You want me to give you a truce, Tobias?”
“Yes, whatever the cost may be, even if you want me to marry you, again.”
Amara was still as a painful realization sank in. Tobias was willing to do anything for Celestine, even going as far as re-marrying her. Although she was aware of how strong their love was, she still felt stupid, because deep down, that love that she had harbored for six long torturous years, was still buried somewhere in her heart, once again causing the pain that she was feeling.
But Amara refused to let the pain show.
She chuckled, the sound was hollow and bitter. “Wow, I must have really underestimated your love for her,”
Tobias frowned, he didn’t like the sound of that.
“You win. I’ll stop it all, the price? You disappear from my life.”
Tobias's expression shifted after hearing this and a foreign feeling of disappointment began to rise.
"I never want to see your face, hear your voice, name or anything that is connected to you, ever again. Be a stranger to me and forget I exist, because I'll do the same. Do you understand me, Tobias?"
"Of course. But," He took one long step forward and Amara was forced to step back. "Is that really what you want?"
