The world couldn’t have played a more ridiculous trick on her. Amara thought as she watched Celestine curtsey and smile innocently.
What were the freaking odds!
“What is the meaning of this, Celestine?” Melanie questioned, standing up from where she sat and staring at the woman with narrowed eyes.
Celestine’s smile did not flatter once. If she was intimidated or irritated by the presence of the two ladies in front of her, which mind you, she was, her professional work smile did not let it show.
“I’m only here to assist a customer Miss.” She turned to Amara, totally ignoring what Melanie had to say next. “Is the dress to your liking, Amara?”
Amara didn’t answer her question. Rather, she stared up at Celestine, sensing what her intentions were without the younger female needing to speak it out.
Whatever belonged to Amara, had first been used by Celestine. This dress and even Tobias’s heart. That was the exact message she was trying to pass across.
However, Amara was unfazed. She looked Celestine in the eyes, gaze unwavering.
The sound of Melanie scoffing broke their little stare down. “This shameless cunt,” She sat back down, folding her hand and eyeing the woman in front of them. “Fine, you want to do your job, do it.” She pointed towards at the center of the room and ordered. “Spin around.”
Celestine nodded obediently and carried the task out. “Is it-“
“Again.” Melanie interrupted her before she could complete asking the question.
“What?”
“Spin around, again, and don’t stop until this valued customer tells you to do so.”
Celestine’s eye twitched. She would have spun around and done what was told, but her ego couldn’t take it.
How dare Amara’s little friend order her around. And that bitch, her eyes gravitated towards Amara who until now had quietly been watching the show.
She glared subtly.
How dare she act like she was mighty, better and above her. How dare she sit there and relish in her embarrassment.
Celestine refused to take anymore of it.
However, just as she stepped forward to speak, Amara raised her hand, signaling that Melanie could stop whatever childish taunt she was pulling.
“That’s enough Mel.”
“Huh? You’re going to let her off like that?”
“I have no reason to pick on someone who isn’t even worth my time.” Saying this, she order. “Next dress, this one looks hideous on you, so I doubt it’d be of use to me.”
Her words dented Celestine’s pride. The female clenched her teeth tightly. She had the urge to rip that elegant faux look off Amara’s face. Thankfully, before she could act on her damn urges, an idea came to mind.
She smiled. “Of course.”
Just like that, she was gone, returning a little while with the second dress Amara had chosen.
The second one looked just as distasteful on Celestine, as the first had. Amara was beginning to think her taste in attire was dwindling.
“Next.” She order.
Celestine’s smile never left. “Right.”
It was the same story for the third dress and the fourth dress, only did Amara take her time to examine the fifth and final dress that looked worthy.
It was a black and gold strapless jumpsuit, with a plunging neckline that would showcase her cleavage perfectly.
Along with it came a plain black suit jacket, which was meant to be worn with the jumpsuit.
