“You bitch!” He roared and was soon chasing after her.
Shit, Amara cursed in her mind, realizing that she had left her phone in the car and her neighborhood…well, there wasn’t really much to say about a fancy neighborhood, isolated from the main street.
Damn, if she knew something like this would have happened, she would have taken her chance with that shabby cabin house Lorenzo showed her as a joke.
At least that place was within society.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an electronic gate creaking open. She snapped her head in its direction, feeling a beacon of hope as she saw a silhouette causal walking out of the gate.
I’m saved! Her eyes grew wide with relief and she opened her mouth to call out to her savior, but before she had utter a single word, a hand clasped around her mouth and one around her waist and she was pulled, fight and struggling with whatever little strength she had, into a corner.
“You sly bitch,” Her attacker hissed in her ear, pressing her back firm against his chest to keep her in place. “You think you’re just going to walk scoot free after all the evil you’ve done? Not on my watch.”
Whether it was a stupid move, or one not well planned, the attacker had foolishly taken his hand off Amara’s waist to grab the damp napkin and she took advantage of it.
Jabbing him straight in the rib and going the extra mile to step on his toe, she was once again released and this time, the adrenaline overshadowed whatever form of dizziness the drug had cast over her.
She bolted straight for the corner without hesitation and she wouldn’t have stopped, if not for the chest that ran face first into. She stumbled, but was caught and pulled closer and in a matter of seconds, she was looking at the face of the stranger who had taken her bungee jumping.
His blue eyes her disheveled appearance and creased in worry.
