Chapter 3
Maeve knew that she was deliberately provoking her, so she didn’t want to bother with her and pulled the door shut.
Phoebe grabbed the doorknob, and then she fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face.
“Sister, I know you didn’t want to see me, but I just came to borrow some seasoning. I just wanted
to make dinner for Donte. If you don’t want to lend it, then don’t lend it. Why did you have to get physical?”
Watching Phoebe suddenly perform like that, Maeve’s heart skipped a beat.
She hadn’t realized yet when Donte came in, and he rushed up the stairs and embraced her.
He lifted his head, looked at her with cold eyes, and his tone carried hidden anger.
“Phoebe had no grudges against you, why did you have to make a scene? She is my girlfriend now, please be kind to her!”
After saying these words, he didn’t even look at her expression and left straight away, holding onto
someone.
Every word and sentence fell into Maeve’s ears, causing her to unconsciously clench her fist.
She watched them disappear into the twilight with a fixed gaze, expressionlessly raising her hand.
With a bang, the door closed.
In the early hours of the morning, the phone placed on the bedside table started vibrating.
Maeve, who was awakened by the noise, rubbed her eyes and instinctively pressed the answer
button.
The next second, the screen interface switched, revealing a large expanse of snow–white skin
covered in love bites.
The ambiguous moaning sound emerged, interspersed with relentless heavy breathing.
Maeve woke up completely when she saw the disturbing footage captured by the shaky camera.
After realizing what the person on the other end of the phone was doing, she froze like a statue.
A few seconds later, the speaker emitted Donte’s deep, lustful voice.
“In the future, you were not allowed to provoke Maeve next door.”
“You have seen through all the little thoughts of others, so why are you still standing on my side? Is
it because you particularly like my body, so you don’t want to be honest with her and want to enjoy it, hmm?”
Upon hearing her coquettish whining, Donte grunted and gave her snow–white buttocks a pat.
“Since everyone knows, why ask? Come up and do it yourself.”
After a rustling sound, the camera focused on Donte’s face.
Watching him enjoying himself so freely, Maeve felt a chill in her heart.
She tightly bit her lower lip, and the taste of blood spread between her teeth.
The panting became increasingly rapid.
Finally, she couldn’t bear it any longer and pressed the hang–up button.
Those sleepy eyes,
which were filled with drowsiness, were now soaked with tears.
She looked up, unwilling to let the tears fall, as countless images flashed through her mind.
When they were affectionate, he would always take care of her emotions, afraid that she might feel
uncomfortable.
Thinking too much, I suppose I have never really enjoyed myself.
He no longer needed to worry in the future, nor did he need to go to great lengths just to steal a
moment of joy.
In the future, she would return his freedom to him.
In the following days, Maeve did not leave her room.
She didn’t tidy up her mood and leave until the day of her best friend’s wedding.
When she arrived at the hotel, she took the opportunity to present the pre–prepared gift before the wedding started.
The two people exchanged greetings for a while, and the best friend held her hand, laughing with her eyes curved.
later
“Maeve, I sent an invitation to Donte, and he agreed to come over. You should go pick him up and have a chat with him. Maybe he will remember the scene where he proposed to you and regain his memory.”
Maeve remained silent for a moment and shook her head.
As she watched the smile slowly fade from her face, a hint of concern flashed in her best friend’s

eyes.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you want to keep going anymore?”
Maeve was about to answer when she saw Donte appearing at the door with Phoebe.
My best friend followed and saw the scene where the two people were walking arm in arm, which made her so angry that her face turned red. She stomped over in her high heels to teach them a
lesson.
