“Please open it and take a look!”

Selena urged with obvious excitement.

Eleanor reluctantly unwrapped the gift. Inside the box lay a white jade piece of exquisite quality–pure and lustrous.

Dorian’s mate, Miranda Ravencrest, immediately offered praise. “Mother, Selena knows you treasure jade above all else, so she specially selected a jade gift for you.”

Victoria glanced at Miranda with obvious disdain, looking down on her sister–in–law’s calculated flattery and finding it transparently artificial.

This kind of sycophantic behavior was something only Miranda would display.

Aria stood among them but didn’t speak, not wanting to disrupt the family dynamics.
